not many cons, it'll perform the same as a hatch but slower due to it's heavier body..
handling may also not be as good as the hatch, but that's pretty much it..

pro, you'll have a family car with performance..

do it
as for cons, cant really think of any except for resale value and $$

would be awesome project though

would be almost the same on the speed/acceleration front (there's only about 80-100kg difference btwn hatch and sedan but handling definitely won't be as good. The body of the hatch has much better rigidity and is shorter than the sedan as well as a little lower so the sedan won't be as chuckable as the hatch. Good project as far as it goes tho..

the sedan is just as good (handling wise) with slightly longer wheel base (almost same as DC2 type R)

50kilo or so heavier.

both sedan and hatch have same body rigidity.

both chuckable

i was considering doing the b16a swap into my ek too.. but i'm not so sure anymore. Going to cost a crap load, plus it all depends how long you intend on keeping the car. Always keep that in mind..

mate if your looking for an engine i might have one in about a month, with all the bits. I'm going b18c from my b16a cos i'm after more displacement. PM me if your interested.
I've got my block ordered just waiting delivery which should be a couple of weeks...

i'm also getting a half-cut so you can have all the little b16 bits.

yea i would do the b18c conversion instead, get some more torque out of it and that extra dosh spent

Are you serious about this? I've been tryin to find out, in terms of which to buy as a first car... With this i may go for the 4 door... If they handle equally!

if anything the sedan is more stable through higher speed corners due to its longer wheelbase.
i've noticed sedans seem to get favoured in a lot of the n1 and super taikyu divisions in japan and other parts of asia as race cars

I have eg sedan with B18C in, it makes a bit more power than B16a so that makes it for extra Kg that sedan has, it handles very good, I had a hach before and sedan just handels better.

yeah i'll agree with that. they're just a lot less twitchy. although a hatch is prob better for something like an autokhana course where a lot of handbraking comes into play.
