how do ya know its showing 20km/h over what your actually doing??

does the needle start at 20 instead of 0??
if it is just take out the dash, gauges etc and reposition the needle to start form 0..

auto electrician would fix it... ~100-150 depending on whose doin the work and the warranty period...

i know its 20 over cause my mate was in front going 50 and my car said it was doing 70 and yes it does start up on 15km when im idling, but when theres no key in the ignition it goes back to 0...? :S

Might be a wrong voltage bias being introduced somewhere, if this is what the guages go by. I'm not sure. Maybe a faulty sensor, a short in a wire. Best get it checked out by an auto elec.

Have you got wheels/tyres that are wider and larger than stock. This may also cause speedo to be out, if the new tyre/wheel size isn't in the same ratio comparison to the stock size.

yea i got 17s which would contribute slightly but my mate has 17s too and his car was showing 50 and mine was showing 70 and i was sitting on his tail (both si hatchs) so i dunno, but when its not moving just idling it says im going 18km/h so thats my main problem atm ...

i would take it to an auto elect to get it sorted out. would be a hassle to drive and always look at the speedo and deduct 20kms from it constantly. good luck bro

Sounds like it could be a problem with your instrument cluster. or VSS (does your trip meter click over when you are idling?)

you didnt have reverse indigo gauges installed into the cluster have you? installing those things can upset the calibration of the speedo... in some cases you have to replace it
