At the moment I am trying to decide what brakes I should get for my track only ED civic. I have looked at a few options, and its come down to getting some jap branded pads & disks like Project Mu or Endless, or get some aussie stuff like DBA disks and Race Brakes (place in Melbourne) Pads.

Prices are about $500 - $700 more for the Jap stuff, but is it really worth it? Coz for that money I can get a set of sway bars!

Has anyone had experience with both types?

mate you thought about getting some vti-r brakes or even sir brakes. i friend of mine just had 9" dba cross drilled on his ed and just canned them for some vti-r brakes with hubs, knuckles and all. rotor size is now 11.2"! with much bigger calipers, brake resovior and booster, it brakes like a dream.
personally, i wouldnt bother getting big name brakes. you can get decent brakes from ek's, ludes even crv's. all can be put on with not much hassle. shit, even get legend ones for twin pot calipers.

Already upgraded the brake size. Running Integra DA8 front brakes, and EG5 rear brakes. Also upraded BMC, brake booster, & brake prop valve. Seems to do alright with stock pads & disks, so hopefully another size upgrade wont be needed just yet.

if thats the case give dba a try with here slotted 'kangaroo paw' series. heard good things about them. also try race brakes. they do alot of custom shit and im sure you wouldnt be paying as much for big jap brands

There is a DBA representative on the following forum.

He answers pretty fast and from reading a particularly informative thread (http://www.mrtrally.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=36), you have to choose your discs based on the pads that you are planning to use.
