Hi guys,

my civic d16a8, has been going good, and suddenly the speedo has started flickering ........what i mean is, when i drive around(usually slow) i know the car is doing less then 20kms, and the speedo, flickers on / off to 70kmh - 140kmh....

now, i have had my distributor fixed before at 190,000kms, now the car has done 276,000kms and before my distributor use to do that but not on the speedo but on the tacho......

I have also installed a cold air induction hose straight into the cold air box, which is now getting cold air

could any of these 2 be the problem???

thanks

the issue sounds more electrical...did you disconnect ANY sensors , wires etc when installing the CAI ?

you may need to test your VSS ( vehcle Speed Sensor )

My dads 93' Legend is like that, sumtimes it'll work, but most of the time it'll flicker ratically or just stay at 0km/h while driving. Lol have to drive by estimating the speed by reading the RPM's.
60Km/h is about 2500RPM i think??
My dad cant be fuct forking out the cash to fix it.

If u find out wat the problem is, holla back.
