Hey,

Was talking to my exhaust guy today and he reckons that the cat fitted to 94-00 integra's (im presuming most honda's of that era have the same one?!?)
are one of the best flowing *stock* cats around!

Can anyone confirm this??

he reckons, aside from most exhaust places recommending high-flow cats to get a bit of extra cash, they r just easier to fit than retro-ing the stock one!

So, if your a tight arse and wanna save some cash, skip the cat---> replace headers and the rest of the piping (including resinator) and a new muffler, done!

Save $250.

what do ya reckon?

i had that set up... not sure if it was just me...
i popped the stock cat in 2 weeks... it would make a tinging sound at 1500rpm.. eacha nd every time..

A year alter i got a new cat.. the new cat flows much smoother...

The after market cat flows heaps better..... but i dont know if its good enough to jsutify the 250 price tag...
but u see the sotck cats are smaller.. they would bottle neck you exhuast as the inlet is smaller than most after market exhuast...
Even if it flows good its still relatively smaller...

Its your call..
i know i would...

I heard a similar thing about the vt commodore cats, being one of the highest flowing cats around from a reputable exhuast shop owner.

I also heard that alot of exhaust place guys talk alot of crap tho.

I say no cat is better but to help with sound in the past i did use a hi flow cat, but after a few years, I took it off, and it was a test pipe, completely empty!

yeah this is what i was told too. just use a V6 Commo cat on a 4cyl. more than enough flow without the hefty price tag.

hahah yeah.. i was told by many exhaust palces.. no point changing the cat's on hondas because they are made so well.. etc-- but dang stock cat compared to high flow-- there's a few extra litres in the high flow---
stock is soo small u can sorta call it cute to the high flow ones-
