Nice!

Hey stephen what type of bulbs are the number plate ones??

hey jlr88rl
the number plate bulbs are the same as your parker bulbs/door lights
so basically ur number plate bulbs can fit in ur parker lights or ur door lights. they use the same type of bulb. so the type of LED u can fit on them can fit the door lights and the parkers

jl88rl
02-07-2005, 11:56 AM
Wow... i wouldve never thought they were. Was it just a simple slide and detach to get to those number plate bulbs ?

What about the Map lights Stephen... Are they Festoon Dome bulbs or the wedge type bulbs??

stephen8512
02-07-2005, 08:48 PM
the map lights are festoon dome lights.
1pc Festoon Dome 31mm 6 LED (Xenon White) Bulb (u get 1 in a pack)

and the door lights + rear #plate lights are wedge bulbs
2pcs T10 168 194 4 LED (Xenon White) Wedge Bulb (u get 2 in a pack)

so i ordered 2x wedge bulbs and 3x festoon bulbs (2 for front 2 maplights and 1 for the back seat lights)

also, sometimes when u install the bulbs, even though they may be in, the light may not turn on. when this happens, just flip the bulb over and put it in the other way. then it should work. just trial an error

hey stephen... how the hell did you install those things? I've fiddled around with my light housings in the interior before and they don't seem like they wanna budge.

I think the lights look good, but if i do it i'll make sure to leave some of the interior lights as normal light bulbs becuase led's dont really light up the area aswell ay?

I've done my ordering too! Got myself the Interior Festoon lights, Courtesy lights, Tail Lights, Brake Lights, Boot Light, Reverse Lights, Indicator Lights, Park Lights (To try out if they are better than my Philips White Parkers) THE LOT... Except for the Brake Light that is integrated with the Tail Light, that hasn't been available yet :(...

hey stephen... how the hell did you install those things? I've fiddled around with my light housings in the interior before and they don't seem like they wanna budge.

hmm well, with the front 2 dome lights, read ur manual and use a thin screwdriver to pry open the outer case to get to the festoon. same with the rear light. the side lights, again same deal, use the screwdriver to pry it open as per manual.

I think the lights look good, but if i do it i'll make sure to leave some of the interior lights as normal light bulbs becuase led's dont really light up the area aswell ay?

yeah this is correct. yellow light disperses more useable light than white. but the LED's i got are quite bright and decent and doesnt lose THAT much more light. but just in case, i kept the light thats on the vanity mirror yellow.

Just did mine, so much better with leds as you get cool white and not warm white.

Parts used was purchased from Jaycar(.com.au)
http://www.jaycar.com.au/products_uploaded/productLarge_10819.jpg
Door Lights, ZD0309 (http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=ZD0309&CATID=&keywords=zd0309&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=) $6.95

http://www.jaycar.com.au/products_uploaded/productLarge_9227.jpg
Interior Lights, ZD0480 (http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=ZD0480&CATID=&keywords=festoon&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=) $14.95

You can also build one yourself and pick your own LED colour or a brighter one. Purchase this (http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=KC5354&CATID=&keywords=festoon&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=) and add your own choice of LED.

After I bought the above I checked DSE and also spotted these and they are cheaper.

Goto www.dse.com.au and search for P8621, P8621 and P8621.

Sorry to dig up an old thread guys, but I relly need help in removing the overhead map lights. I have read the thread and also the manual. It says to "Pry" on the outer edge with a small screw driver. I do that but they still do not budge. Please can I get a step by step from someone who has done this please.
Basically I need to remove the whole overhead console as I am looking to route my wires for my Auto Dim Rear View mirror in there also.

Please help!

you pry one side then pry the other side and it should clip out.

don't forcefully or you snap the casing hooks.

stick flathead vertically up into the slot, then pry towards your direction.

i got the white led's as well for the centre lit in the roof and the doors. i got them locally at a place called Tougetune in Rydalmere. The centre one i have is better than the one shown in the picture as it comes with I believe 8 LED's rather than the 4 and it is bloody bright !!!!

they are absolutely awesome, especially at night when you're walking to your car and you use the keyless entry. It has this awesome glow and because my interior is beige, it brightens up so much more..

My dome lights has 12 LEDS!! its super bright! I also did my courtesy door lights too but you will notice they begin to flicker sometimes with vibration or if someone SLAMS your door very hard...e.g pissed GF HAHA!! Easy way to rectify the flickering is to bend the metal wires diagonally rather than vertically... Don't push the courstesy door lights too hard as the socket within the door will push through!! its happend to me before!

hi there
wasn't sure if its a normal thing, but bought a 2nd hand euro, and when the roof lights (spotlights where you have the compartment for your sunglasses), is set to 'door' only one lights on (the drivers side).

They both work fine manually by pushing it in and out, but the door only works for the rear and drivers side spot light but not the front passenger spotlight.

(94 euro luxury)

thanks

Hey guys I thought I should jump in here,

I have changed the following to LED in the Euro

- Brake Lights
- Tail Lights
- Blinkers in the rear
- 12 SMD boards for all interior lights, front and back
- Front parkers
- Rear License plates lights
- Both front door courtesy lights

The only normal globes left in the car are dash and front headlight blinkers :)

The car looks like a footy stadium at night, and they are all MEGA bright.

A bit of a stupid question, but how do you remove the "covers" for the rear license plate lights? I need to replace the LED that came with the car as it seems to be blown and I can't figure out how to get the plastic cover off.

Have you check your car manuel ? it has step by step guide... you will need to remove your license plate first, then carefully remove the cover that is over both of the plate lights.. from there you should be right.. if you don't have the manuel i can take some photos and post them here for ya..

I buy all the time from this website
http://dealextreme.com/products.dx/category.712
they cheap as chips with free international shipping. Sometimes ebay sellers are drop shippers who use this site. Otherwise ebay sellers are genuine manufacturers and cheaper than this site. Either way this site has everything at great prices

Ive never heard of an LED parker until last week, but would any of the items on that page be one?

Have any of you guys installed the LED replacements in a CU2 Euro?? From what I've seen, everyone's done it to a CL9.

I'd be keen to mod all my interior lights (including vanity mirror ones) to cool white LED in my CU2. I read the manual very briefly but don't remember coming across instructions for replacing the interior lights.

@Shakkas: NICE! I actually saw the pics and thought, gee that looks nice, but never realised that yours is also a CU2 because I saw that the cabin/dome light was in the centre. Mine is above the rear seats, probably because of the sunroof.

Couple of questions:

* Where/which lights did you buy? I'm looking at the ones from www.superbrightleds.com (http://www.superbrightleds.com).

* Did you end up breaking anything?
* Did you replace the vanity mirror lights as well?
* How long did it take you to do all of them?

I bought my leds from autojoy. But if you know the right size then buying them on ebay or site is fine.

Didnt break anything, was bit too gentle in the beginning but then had to get rough. All you need is a flathead screwdriver and wedge it out.
The door covers were tough to get out, have to be patient with them

Didnt change the vanity lights, really saw no point as they r rarely used (or my misses and didnt want to blind her with pure white led lol)

Took me prob 30 mins max, if you know what you are doing then 5 mins. Took me that long as I didnt want to break anything

hope that helped

Can't wait. I'll have to pull the original ones out to check the sizes and then order them.

Will keep you guys posted.

Is there anywhere where there is a parts reference with part numbers etc.? It'll save me having to do the work twice over.

@Shakkas: do you remember the part numbers of yours?

The vanity lights are 29mm festoons, and on eBay, the replacements in LED are worth like $20 + postage!!!

Did you do your license plates too?

Hey do any of you know what sorta power and current ur LED's are taking?

Instruction manual says that you should be using 5W halogen globes... as far as i know, a 5W LED would b bright as fvck.

plus i can't seem to f ind any 5W T10 LEDs around

Have you made sure the LED is sitting tight in its place? If it's a bit loose it tends to flicker. Check that first. Also, what kind of LEDs do you have?

Yeah, they're in tight. I don't have any problems with the door lights, but the main interior lights and the two near the sunglass holder tend to flicker. I was wondering if it had anything to do with the power. I bought the leds my superbrightleds.com.

I just fitted mine (all cool white!!!). I got mine from superbrightleds as well...paid about US$110 incl. ems postage. They got here in less than a week! I think they look nice and wifey approves (!). Only small problem I've got is that the vanity ones are slightly thicker than the housing. I've forced it in and it looks okay...but still...I guess the fact that I know they're not the right fit is just bothering me.

Also, @longers: no flicker here mate.

LEDs don't last long on the Euro because of voltage fluctuation from the alternator, especially when the AC kicks in. My average LED bulb life was about 2-4 months with the normal LEDs and about 6-8 months with the superbright LEDs. I've gone to white regular filament bulbs now (came with philips crystalvision)

I use this LED from ebay and it lasts since almost 3 years ago. really bright especially if your interior is beige.

voltage fluctuation realllly messes up LED's. The other day i blew my parkers because i forgot that they were on when i started the engine :(

It's the same, 31mm.

Anyone know the exact number for the Door/Vanity/map/Boot lid lights from www.suprbrightleds.com

I know Door/Boot T10 5W Wedge Bulb
map/Vanity lights: Festoon Dome 31mm-35mm LED Bulb

but the superbrightleds.com site does not have those number, the one from http://www.superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html seems to be the right but I can't be sure as it says T3-1/4 (#194/168) replaces: 194, 158, 168, 12256, 12961

Confused? Thanks in advance

Awesome!
thanx for the heads up.
I'll order a few tonight!

So I'll need 2 for the doors, 4 for the ceiling lights?

What's the average life of these bulbs?
Any brand in particular i should look for..?
Because I could look into autobarn or superled website etc

TRaNz
02-10-2011, 11:25 PM
2 for the doors, so thats one per side.

The ceiling lights, you need 3. two at the front and one in the rear.
lifespan, im not too sure, mine have lasted for more than 2 years so far. before that i had different colour, lasted alsmot the same time, probably still be ok. I changed them bcoz.....well i wanted a different colour....hahaha

eBay would be best go for these, be cheaper than autobarn n supercheap.

if you wanted bright ones, like i did, i looked for SMD LEDs or Flux LEDS, they were bright as.

Lazarus
02-10-2011, 11:35 PM
Ahh, righteo, so cheaper = lesser quality in this case i suppose.

2 years is hell fine.

I'll give the ebay ones ago and see how bright they are.
theyre not gonna be for any 'real' purpose lol, just to look nice when i unlock the car ^^

yep, i go from top with a flathead screwy.
Just be careful the bulb might get a bit warm/hot when u go to take the bulb out. Dont want u to burn yourself etc.

BUMP

Hi Guys

Noob with all this stuff, so thought Id bump up this thread. I've been able to find heaps of info, but some of the links to buy leds for my 05 Accord are no longer working. I guess it is a matter of trial and hopefully you get a good set of lights.

I'm looking at getting Blue T10 - 5 SMD LEDs for the door

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/t10-1w-20-30-lumen-5-x-5050-smd-led-car-blue-light-bulbs-12v-pair-58297?item=30

and 31mm - 6 SMD LEDs for the map lights and cabin light at the back

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/31mm-1-35w-6-smd-led-84-lumen-6500k-white-dome-light-dc-12v-51003?item=14

Will the Map Lights be bright enough and fit as well?

Also, I haven't tried opening up the Licence Plate lights, but what would be the best T10's for the plate lights so it is bright enough to see the plate.

Cheers
