Possible it had a front hit and got 99 front end panels to replace....

"The car has an upgraded 99 model front, with crystal headlights and the front bumper (not because of accident but because i liked the 99 model coupe front end), paint job is in perfect condition... car is mechanically sound and reliable...view to appreciate, price is negotiable. "

unless he's a panel beater, thats been in an accident... but don't quote me on that.
most cars have been in an accident some how!

What the??
What do you mean? Just because he did a front end swap means its been in an accident?
I was considering doing this. There’s nothing wrong with my front end but I prefer the face-lift model too. Just because he spent a bit of money swapping the front end instantly makes it an accident?
I think that’s kind of a rude assumption.

afaik the ek4 didn't enter australia as a facelift hatchback model, however, europe did get facelifted ek4s. And I did a facelift conversion as well and was not in an accident. but if you were in a front accident, if would be more cost efficent to facelift, as insurance covers that ...

the front's been changed, the rear bumper looks stock to me. I dunno, seems like a lot of work for something that doesn't look that different to stock (front bumper)... Mine is stock, & I had to look a few times to even see any difference at all.

Rear bumper has been changed to a 99-00 model hatch rear bumper. no ugly bumper protectors.
It’s almost a bolt on project. It’s a new set of front guards, bonnet, headlights of course front bumper and grill.
The only thing that needs to be modded is the bumper support just below the headlights. It needs to be trimmed slightly.
The most expensive part is paint.
If the car paint wasn’t too faded you probably could source all the parts in the factory silver colour from a silver donor car.

prob not in an accident as has done other body work to it as well...the black door sill thingy and sideskirts have been colourcoded too. Maybe he just went all out on makin it look neat...??
So wat would a facelift like this cost?
I dont think its been in an accident, the lines are pretty straight around the hedlight area.
$16000 for a 98,000km ek4 is pretty good. Too bad its silver.

unless anyone here has seen the car in person we cant say it has or hasnt been in a prang. for all we know, the car could be covered in orange peel!
but im going to have to agree with minis2000 on this one. why would you waste your time money and effort changing something that has no real difference. AUDM ITR to JDM ITR i understand, but this just seems pointless to me.

Well, I did because I liked the headlights better, wanted the Si grille and the lip. So I changed it out and spend money pointlessly but I am happy about every penny I spent.

Too many haters. Its the finer details that make a car.

Each to there own, might be the best modification to that guy, could be a waiste of money to some, who cares!
Personally, I dont see the point, already being colour coded on those, I wouldnt bother having a new front put on. However, thats just my opinion.
