i'm sure there is a nsx chassis with a jet engine that could run 4 seconds, but thats besides the point.

haha dam, sorry... wow all that work.

When best motoring ran the earlier NSX Type S up against a R33 GTR it ran a 13.164, next run against a porshe it ran a 12.920, up against a m3 a 12.877.

And i have one of a NSXR going against a R34 GTR nsxr running a 12.805.

So a good guess is high 12's.

PRODUCTION: 6838 (all models 1991-97)
.....
POWER & TORQUE: 188kW @ 6800rpm or 201kW @ 7100rpm; 284Nm @ 5300rpm

PERFORMANCE: 0-100km/h - 7.1 seconds; 0-400 metres -15.0 seconds (3.0-litre, five-speed)
course, this is probably based on company specs for aussie delivered models.

from another forum thru google... http://www.superhonda.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-31809.html

Because there are very few NSXs in Australia, not a lot is known about them. However, there is a myth that it is a very fast car. Is it really as fast as it looks?

Basically I would like to know the following times for a stock NSX:
1) 0 - 100 kph (or 0 - 60 mph)
2) 0 - 400 m (or 1/4 mile)

Thanks.

My neighbor has a '93 NSX. It's all stock and he does low 13's in the 1/4 mile. The NSX is not really meant to be a drag car. Like ronio said, it handles very very nicely.

The Comptech SC for the NSX costs way too much. Somewhere like $9K US.

But to answer your question, yes the NSX is a fast car but it'll cost you.

I don't really trust "sources" of quarter mile times.
They all seem wrong.
I was really just interested what people know/seen they can do on an actual dragstrip

Thanks for all the info guys ;)
It's just that a friend of mine who's step dad owns a NSX is telling me it's been on the strip and did mid 11s totally stock. I didn't believe him...

isnt the 0-100km/h time pretty slow for a $200,000 + car ?

or is it that honda's arent drag cars, but very good track cars argument

those numbers are rubbish..
the problem with the NSX's especially in OZ is people know so little bout them and are commenting on hearsay not from experience.

Yeah agreed...

Did they ever sell well tho? Anywere in the world?

These days they'd be lucky to sell 5 a year, out ragious price for a exausted car.

Hmm the quater time is surprisingly fast but the 0-100km/h seems abit slow. :| Must have a lot of top end?

it's a shame that honda didn't boost the KW of the car by a couple more digits. another 50 KW or so and it would have sold alot better. in perth WA i have never seen an NSX on the road (so it'll be special when i drive mine) but in america acura sells their NSX quite well (turboed models and higher KW)

CKEY can you put up a link where Acura has turbocharged NSX's selling from the showroom?

NSX's were never sold with forced induction in the new car showroom from Acura. I believe some dealers may have done package deals installing the Comptech Supercharger and selling them with a manufacturer's warranty.

Try this American site to get your fill of NSX info.

CKEY, you should think of joining the Honda Sports Car Club of WA, which is just in the throes of re-establishing itself. You cannot appreciate an NSX's beauty till you have seen one on the road against more mundane traffic [or next to some Ferrari's on one of their club runs] :)

Yeah sorry guys i didn't mean out of the show room. turbocharging kits include comptech and godzilla and i have been told that they can be installed on honda engines as well but a few extra bucks thrown in to get around annoying hassles like lines and electrics etc.

o0o a sports car club, i'll give that a look. i'd probably be the youngest dude there!
