hey guys,
my mates thinking about buying somthing like this and mounting it on the dash.
my question is, what is the reception like if u just watch normal tv?
would u have to have some sorta rediculous arial to get a good picture?
refering to this ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=14946&item=5784455154&rd=1) thing.
thanks fellas.

not sure about TV.. TV reception has always been an issue... to get good reception u'll need to be stationary,
whereas when u are driving around, to get the reception, its like shooting at a moving target... so pretty
hard to get good reception with TV...

not allowed either... but i'm sure ppl still have their screens going while driving...
the screens shouldnt be functioning if u are driving anyway... installers are not permitted
to allow screens to work unless the handbrake is on

u can use the radio, mp3's or dvd's watever... as long as the screen is not working... so u can have the
audio from dvd's or watever but the screen must have no function...

yeah i got a sweet dea for a dvd player the other weekend, good thing i couldnt find the cash, i would have regretted it i think. My battery would be flat watchin a dvd withut the engine on in 15 minutes with the sound up, and a waste of fuel with the engine on. Also makes your car a target for break ins. I say get a good OEL headunit and hook an ipod up to it and you're set, forget dvds.

I have a flip out screen and tv tuner in my car. The tv tuner has 4 x diversity antennas plugged into it and the reception is actually pretty good. When you are moving, the picture does jump around abit but the sound never breaks up. When you are stationary, generally the picture is great.
