hi there, im a newbie to this engine swap thing... just need a few opinions. would some1 be able to help me on how this hybrid (jdm b18cr in eg) performs (1/4 mile time), like in stock form with maybe a catback and cai. reason is i am looking to do the swap. and will it be possible to fit it in a EG civic, the GL model with 1.5L carby motor. i think the engine mounts are the same just the wiring confused me. and roughly how much is a 98 jdm b18cR half cut is worth these days. cheers guys!

Yes it will fit and let me say that the car will be a little rocket. Why do you want a JDM B18C though? Just get one here in Aus, should be cheaper.
Price wise, you are looking at about $6-8k for a half-cut. Apparently someone on this forum knew a place that can get them for $5k but i forgot who or where it was.
Have you had any quotes yet for the B18C?
hmmmm.. I got my h22a halfcut for 3.2k

geek is in qld :D....
b18's are generally more expensive if they are taken from the dc2r... it will fit in the eg but you will need some custom work done.

the mounts fit, the wiring loom fits, if anything hes gona have a harder time getting PGMFI and converting the swap to obdI. JDM b18c-R is a lot better than the oz counterpart: higher compression, better tranny and if it comes with the headlights you can do a conversion on your egg. Go jdm! the japs always keep the best for themselves :D PM me if you wanna have a chat gl

Geek I like what you've done to the interior of your Civic. I like how you've spray painted the center console, air conditioning vents, dash console, etc, with the metallic silver paint. Looks very neat and I want to do the same with my interior. Though it looks very plan and simple to do, I would like to know what paint you applied to it and if theres anything I would have to look out for when performing this task.
-cheers
