could someone tell me if there is much benifit by fitting a JDM type R 4-1 over a ADM type r 4-2-1 headers to my del sol.
i want to fit a full system of some sort as its totally stock and to quiet. being my first honda i have no idea!

From what i've heard, gains are minimal. keep saving for something better like the toda headers

nah i would say the 4-1 headers are the best stock headers around and better than some aftermarket ones. Also the 4-2-1 Auspec headers at one point go to a 1.75" pipe. (Read this in an Autospeed mod.) While the 4-1 are mandrel bent and tuned length!

It depends on what type of gains you are looking for :

4-2-1 = mid range gains
4-1 = more top end

A lot of people i know go for the 4-2-1 setup because they already have the benefit of VTEC for top end grunt, the 4-2-1's make up for the lack in low-down torque and responsiveness.

Do a bit of research, especially on here, topic has been covered lots of times!!

i have got a 4-2-1 APEXi header.
i dunno about the type R ones.
but i think the 4-2-1 is better if u looking at mid ranges...which is probably wat u really want.
cos HONDA is lacking torque...and u want some mid range power.
