Hey guys,
Looking at an Injen intake for my VTi-R. Just after verification that the correct intake for the VTi-R is the RD-1450 which is the 'Race Division' CAI. Otherwise should I go for the short ram intake (IS-1450) and then add the detachable cold air extension (EIS-1450) to it. Thanks for your input guys......
Does anyone have an Injen intake on their VTi-R???

RD is generally one piece CAI, however i guess the obvious advantage to buying the short ram and the cold air extension is that if it's ever as wet as it was in sydney last week, then u can go back to short ram!
I've got Injen CAI RD series on my vtir civic, and its great!
Yeps for dc2, IS-1450. If you decide to get the extension you have to worry about water proofing etc. If you get the short ram, to be truly effective a heat shield is needed. From memory, the racing division is cheaper than getting the short ram and the additional extension. So if ur set on the CAI get the racing division, if not try the CAI and if you want more then get the extension. For my vtir i got the short ram for the LS<-- i got it for cheap :D thats why, it just needed sum minor adjustments and she was sitting tight. I dont think there would be much difference to the proper IS-1450. They sound great and noticable difference to performance. GL with the buy

Yeah I have spoken to the importer which is PSI products, and he is placing an order in a couple of weeks which should arrive in approximately two months. I have been quoted around $400. Adrian does not have them in stock any longer.... I think if we approached PSI products again with a group order he would order them sooner, and perhaps use faster shipping. Let me know if you are interested and I will ring him again...

On the site he doesnt list it but he does have some in stock. It is a bit more expensive than the one for EK tho. For a group buy, of 5 or more he can do a better price i think! Email him! good price and service.

Just spoke to PSI products,
A group buy is a definate possibility, with faster shipping and savings of up to 30%. However, we cannot buy direct from PSI products, the order has to go through a retail dealer, and as I am from Tasmania I don't expect everyone to have to get their intakes shipped from Tasmanis to their state. Probably a retailer in Sydney would be best, and then each person can either pick theirs up if they live in Sydney, or have it transported... So does anyone in Sydney know of a retailer that stocks Injen? As well, 10 definate orders would guarantee this shipping and price etc. So who else is interested?

There is an optional Heat Shield you can buy for Injen intakes, which also acts as a water shield. They are around $50

Not necessarily, it just means we have to buy the intakes from a business that has an account with PSI products, I am sure there would be heaps in NSW alone, as there is even one business in Tasmania that has an account, Revolution Racegear....

will he give us any details?!
but i'm sure if we got them sent to a business they woudl charge us the rrp, ratehr then a good 30% discount price.

No, PSI products would sell the intakes to a retailer at 30% off, and the retailer would then pass the 30% saving onto us, if he wants our business that is.... It just has to be all pre-organised, with payment made before the good arrive. PSI products may also directly send the intakes to us to cut down on shipping costs, we just pay the retailer and thats it...

hmmm, this sounds really wierd.
so psi is the supplier.
psi sells goods to retailers
retailers sell goods to customers.
However, PSI has agreed to sell the product indirectly to us thorugh a retailer at wholesale prices.
WHy would a retailer bother supplying us with the intakes if they are making nothing of them?
seems wierd.
How come psi can't just sell to us on the bases that we are retailers or something, or do we need to sign an agreement with them and pay them money?
!!!! so confused.

well unless this 30% of is like rrp, and infact the retailer is buying the item for 40% or 50% off, then yes i beleive they will not be making anyhting.
thats why i think it would be hard to find someone willing, except for edw-r who likes to mod his car with the parts he sells ;)
