EK1 vs EK4 shocks n springs

Heya guys,
once again i need your advice/opinion :D

Well i have a GLi EK, and i was thinking about buying a set of EK4 shocks and springs to change .. But what i've heard is that the shocks and springs are exactly the same on the EK1 to the ones that are on the EK4 (stock springs and shocks btw)
Is this true?
If it is, why does the EK4 have better handling then the EK1 ?

- Yes, I believe it's true.
- It has better handling due to other factors such as struct bars and sway bars.

If you're gonna change shocks and springs aftermarket ones would be the go. Add on some struct/sway/tie bars to your car and it will handle as good as any EK4, even better if you add all of them.

but since d-series engines weigh less than a b-series.. dint honda do anything to ek4 spring rate or dampening rate?

I think this topic's been covered several times. Or have I heard this question repeat itself time after time.
I remember someone clarifying that EK4 has better shocks/springs.

seriously if your gonna upgrade.. upgrade to aftermarket. its not worth the swap from ek1 to ek4 springs and shocks.

look for brands like (depending on your budget and wat you want out of it):
koni, whiteline, eibach, tein, cusco, bilstein, hks, ohlins, gab, etc etc

the best thing for you to do now is search forums for data that is relevant to wat you want.. eg. just a drop, track, street, drag, etc etc etc

oh and better handling is cuz ek4 have upgrading parts and add on that ek1 doesnt. struts sway etc... wat everyone else said

EK4/EM1 should be the best suspension for EK based cars - being the flagship model im sure the rates are SLIGHTY higher front and back for a sportier feel :) *correct me someone*

The spring rate is higher I believe
damper is the same.

EK4 & EM1 have the same suspension setup, a stiffer more sportier suspension

get a rear sway bar for better handling. trav (egsi) sells them cheap.

Nope jsut looks.. i had super low king springs at first....
I use to do alot of spirited driving........
I then changed back to stock OEM EM1 springs.. they kicked ass compared to super low king springs... but king springs are more comfortable..
Im not sure about normal king springs but the super lows are a bit too soft for my liking

As to king sprigns quality...
I reckon they are awesome..
Despite many debated to their quality i believe they are proabably the best australian made spring on the market...
They are nicely coated in special paint that dont chip.. There isnt dents and stuff all over them... the coils dont rub as much as other progressive rate...

I dont want to name the comparision brands............. pm me if u want to know what i am comparing them to (AUS made springs)

So if i were to use King springs from a GLi/CXi EK and put them on my EM1 i wont have any dramas?? whats with the spring rate # i dont get them:confused: , sorry to bring this thread up again.. did the search, and still question was unanswered for me..
