hey Yall,

in case you're wandering wats happening with the old bucket of CRX history? haha

Its been garaged for the last couple years - driven maybe 2-3 times a year.

well - about 3-4 months ago a rusted ol pipe that goes into the intake manifold decided to simply Rust away and break! meaning i couldnt start the car cos of water pissing out everwhere...

so on the weekend i decided the time has come to replace the intake manifold - give her abit of a clean up and yeah - took me all weekend with painting and cleaning.
I worked till sunday 7pm putting it all together but didn't crank her over until tonight... and yeah - she's alive but barely...

All the plugs are getting fouled up, she spits and puffs, idles at about 200-400rpm...

I checked plugs, dissy, injectors... i believe the suspect part is my Cold Start Valve -- the Choke being stuck open... so tomorrow nite it will be slightly dismanlted again and hopefully will fire up well and without hesitation...
But its alive -thats the most important thing.... shes going into Perth CABIN (9th-10th July) next weekend and i thought id drive her around rather than push - so will have to wait and see now!

what is done to your crx?

You mean to say whats 'NOT DONE'??? hehe

Reason why im doing as little modifying as I can to the CRX - beyond the necessary repairs - is because in my eyes as well as many other CRX owners - this little beast is becoming a small piece of history in the CRX World.

Simply put - As far as I have reasearched - this could very well be the ONLY street driven CRX within the #1000 build - the actual build # is 29. Hence why I keep it stock and as close to original spec as possible.

To many That particular fact doesn't mean much - but if you look at the overall picture... the 1983 CRX started the 'SPORTY' image of Honda hatches, after which the Integra took over.... and this is one of the very 1st ones - still on the road (to an extent). Came optioned with sunroof, Auto gearbox, Aircon, little weather shields, rear speaker pods...

What I did change on the car is: seat retrim - old trim gave up and fell apart - and because I searched the 'World' for thesame trim and couldn't find it - I had to settle on a custom red/black combination. Stock Steel Rims gave way to lighter 'CRX' alloys and Mild Steel Extractors substituted the heavy cast iron exhaust manifold.
Original 'AM' stereo still sits in my garage - i needed some CD music hehe

so yeah... hope that kinda explains why there isn't much modifications happening...
