Why would you fork out the 10K + to fit one of those engines for sub b16a performance? Doesnt sound like a great idea to me....

Dont forget, the civic is a corolla competitor and is designed to be user friendly and fuel effecient. Its us enthusiasts that want extra power :)

well its an overall improvement none the less...
6% more fuel economy than the current 1.7l engines... and more power than the previous gen economy civics (cxi/gli)...
and theres talk of a 155/160hp (115/119kw) varient...

well its better than that 1.7l thing they had before. I reckon it wouldnt be a bad little engine to have in a new civic.

erm im a freak aye??
Well lets see who people call a freak when you brag bout your 10k of work under the hood, then get left behind on the road by some mum doing the shopping in her commondore.
Youd probly only be impressing the mums with that extra fuel economy too.

Not bad for a SOHC...
might give the B18A/B18B a run for its money

well if you think about it, civics are more important aimed at a certain market, and not for us rev heads
so vtec with fuel efficiency is great technology well done honda

im sure ppl will start whacking on mods, turbos etc etc, always do!

nowedays even grannies want power in their car...the only reason y (i reckon) aussie honda never brings in the good civics after em1/ek4 was cos those 2 cars flopped so badly in aussie...
