whats up guys just a quick Q,

i just got quoted for a b16a halfcut "EG", supplyed & fitted for $6500-$7500, work to be done would be

1. Getting it in.
2. Fitting the breaks from the halfcut "think he said the JDM ones were bigger??"if so can any1 verify.
3. Adding full climate control??? "dont know if the JDM EG came with this"
4. All wiring. And the tuning......i think.

Things like this, do you guys rekon its a decent price, i think it's ok not to happy about the price though. I really wanted a b18C can any1 tell me how much a decent H/C would cost then the cost of install, is it possible get a b18c/installed for the same price?? Am i gettin setup to be BURNED!!
thnx for all the help in advance.

from what i can gather from reading posts about this kind of thing before, the brakes from the half cut will be better coz they were designed to pull up a car running that engine. Also heard that aircon (climate control) needs to be changed along with the engine. As for the price id have no idea, sorry man.

that's $2500-3500 off a H22 conversion.. pricey pricey, where did you get the quote from?
why don't you get "[[danny]]" to do it for you :thumbdwn:

btw i think EG6 brakes are bigger and calipers stronger.

thats a little on the steep side, considering some workshops are currently getting in B16a for around the $2500-3000 mark... labour shouldn't be that much.

there are not too many people that i know who generally offer to do engine swaps, so be careful of who you engage...

DIY is def. the way to go if you want to learn and stuff...

or pay a shop from the list above, but again be careful - make sure you know exactly what your money is being spent on!

like you list brakes and A/C, make sure you get a good half cut and it will all be there :D

yeah i guess there are alot of shady people out there, but just wonderin about the DIY, can an idiot like me who knows heaps about stats nd figures but knows jack shyt in the tech department be able to do a DIY install :D or is it best left to the proz, is it best know a lil mechanical stuff before entering DIY?? Or can it all be done by readin manuals/trial nd error and common knowledge???

Do a search on google a few should pop up.

Hi

Yes those prices are drive in drive out. I was quoted on my Civic GL which was not fuel injected so it may be cheaper. I'm sure the brakes, exhaust, engineering slips,a/c,warranty and just about everything is included.

But like Tinkerbell has mentioned, make sure you can get the workshop to list all the goods and labour that will be done.

Depends how confident you are..mine was a bolt in swap(h22a,EG).Used the Hasport mounts and driveshafts, the standard civic loom,p13 ecu.only thing i had to get made was the exhaust, plus the shifter had to be modified. All up it took me 2 weeks to remove the old engine, take the car to painters(engine bay) install new engine+wiring mods+shifter mods, then tow to exhaust shop, then mod plated..:)

Hmm...sound like a shyt load of work then, from what i read people said the h22a wasn't a straight bolt on swap if it was that easy i'd opt for a h22a, from what i heard a lil bashin is needed to get it in there HAHA :)

honda_b_blastn

IT is a bolt it swap with the aid of Hasport or similiar kits! also using Hasport or other brand drive shafts.the drivers side gearbox mount needs to be removed from the body,a larger hole cut for the shifter and its bolt in.
