vti-r = 1.6 DOHC VTEC
vti = 1.6 SOHC VTEC

And i think vti-r coupes sunroofs are optional for ek models.

You would hope/assume so yeah lol.. Otherwise it wouldnt be worth the extra $$ to get just a B16 with standard brakes etc

Hmm.
well a few things here..
difference btw vti coupe and vti-r coupe are these
obviously B16A in vtir and D16y in Vti
Sunroofs are NOT standard on the vtir coupe... they are optional (unlike the hatches)
Vtir has 4 wheel disc brakes unlike the vti which has 2 front discs and 2 rear drums (this is different on the GLI coupes, 99-00 with the D16y)
rims are different as well (vti rims are 14" i believe..well they look smaller than the 15" on the vtir)
vtir also comes with front strut brace and a bit tighter suspension.
seats are alos a bit different too :D
also interior lighting is amber in the vti but whitish in the vtir.
pretty much everything else is the same.

]]VTiR looks better

This is mainly because the VTi was a 96-98 car and the VTi-R is 99-00, so it benefits from the EK mid-life facelift (nicer lights, bumpers, front spoiler). You'll find the Coupe GLi (99-00, rubbish car) also has similar exterior.

Iv never understood how ppl think the 99-00 looks better than the 96-98....

i reckon the early model ones look much cleaner? ....maybe its just me...

Ultimately it's subjective, but I think makes the 99+ EK Civics look better is the lack of the bumper strips. This doesn't apply to the Civic Coupe, USDM EK Civics and the CTR.
