hey i've got a civic si 93 EH9...i bought a cannon muffler for it a while back and although it sounds alrite at times, its makes this farty kinda noise when u first accelerate...does anybody know what to change to fix this...i wanna get a more deeper sound.

also, would an air filter make much difference to my car?

its all to do with ur muffler and resonators. A cannon on a stock system will be faty, simple.. Just take it to an exhaust shop and tell them what u want.

Air filter will give you more induction noise, but you're better off pairing it with some form of cold air intake..

oh ok so an air filter on its own would be pretty much useless? i'm pretty new to all this so i'm pretty much clueless as u can tell...so what do u mean pair it up with some form of cold air intake? thanks

A resonator/hotdog will quiten things down and smoothen out the raspyness a bit, but its still work that a exhaust shop will do for u. I am usually DIY, but unless u have a mandral bender and welding experience/tools, u cant do this at home.

so did you just turbo the D16y motor or did you put something else in there Weq? was it alot of work and if u dont mine me asking was it terribly expensive to do??

Cold air induction/intake is when you have some form of piping to an opening where cold air can reach the POD filter so it's not sucking up the very hot air enclosed in the engine bay..

ok thanks heaps for ur advice guys...just another thing...can i get a resonator installed even though i only have a cannon muffler (no exhaust system) and do i need cold air induction for the POD filter to function?

i got a 2.25'' cat-back sys on my EK4. it has a straight thru muffer just after the cat and a X-force cannon on the back. plenty of deep notes coming from mine! i have heard another EK4 drive off with some cheap looking exhaust and it sounded like a truck (shocking! hehe). a pod filter will give you exhaust a lil deeper on the note, it did for me....see how you go.

resonator will make it quieter.... u could put a silencer on for lower noise once again...
