i got a quote for a Jap front cut typeR, imported and fitted $11,500, that a good deal?? whats the difference between aus spec and jap typeR.

or a aus vtir front cut fitted $7600,

B16a frontcut $6000 fitted,


Whats a better deal???

i really don't see a point in gettin the b16a or b18c done..
if u want a b18c.. might aswell buy a VTIR..
b16a is upgrading.. but not by much.. and you won't be beating any civic VTI-Rs

only one worthwhile is the b18c-R
but $11,500 is kinda pushing it..

your looking at spending 11500 on a type r engine, and you own a gsi thats probly worth a decent 10k aswell? If i was you id probly save up a few more $$$ and get a genuine type r, that way you dont have to worry about dodge conversions and you get a better suspension, gearbox, brake lsd and interior package to boot...
Or just boost for 10k and be quicker than a type r, in sleeper style.

those mechanics give different prices depending on how much knowledge you have, if he thought you knew you stuff, he would have offered a lower price. you should go back let him crap on a bit then laugh in his face and tell him he's full of it.

when i drove a turbo a few years ago, i got quoted $800 to install a BOV, i didn't know much but i wasn't that dumb. they'll try anything on the novices.

b16a fitted.. is this drive-away? does it include fluids or anything, at that price you would want upgraded brakes and suspension with that deal!!

just think.. to buy a b16a 1/2 cut from the wreckers its about $2500 - $3500..
now.. would you pay a mechanic $3.5k to install one??

IMO turbo it, or sell up and buy a vti-r/type-r with the money you were gonna do on the engine swap

depends whether u want to stay na or u want to boost..
if u want best bang for buck, go boost..
if you're still on ur Ps and odn't want ur insurance to go through the roof..
then stay NA..

imo, only the typeR conversion is worth it..
but even then, ur handling won't be as good as even AUDM ITRs let alone JDM ITRs

just found a couple of turbo kits made in the states. 4800 shipped to WA, cheaper than b16a conversion capable of making 3 time the power and 5 times the torque

yeah awesome. Dont go B16a , that would be a downgrade.
You allso gotta remember $4800 for the kit. But what about the internals? the manifold? the labour? the brakes? the suspension? the gear box? The insurance once its all installed. I currently pay $1420 a year for full comprehensive on my Vtir, i got a quote for it if i was to turbo it the yearly premium would be $3800. Thats crazy.

Oh and i wouldnt buy from the states, what if you have a warranty issue?

just found a kit for aus integra, even cheaper they didnt say turbo specs but, prob a small turbo, ill have to wait and see. im paying 800 a year full comp insurance, 3rd party is like 150, i might just have 3rd party the car aint under finance so theres no obligation to, and theres heaps of honda wreckers incase i smash it!

Why is going to a B16A just upgrading? so it wont be that much quicker? even with a full exhaust and cold air intake and maybe even ECU and internals?

My mate put a Type R engine in his GSi and it flies! well for a non turbo anywayz...ive herd it pull 3rds :P and he rekons he's pulled a 4th once but iduno hehe... and to my knowledge he didnt spend over 10gz... it all depends on who u know...but then again his is a show car so the money aint really waisted, but when u go to sell it, it myt be hard and ull lose a hell of a lot...I would probly jus sell urs and get a VTi-R then turbo that :P but its up 2 you... depends how attached u are to urs :P

too i would have got a vtir if there was 1 i liked when i was looking, but im in Perth there ws only like 8 integras for sale and the vtec were either to much or looked like sh@#$%. i was gona get a crx but it got sold, and they are hard to come by here
