Now, i dont know about you guys, but i have a feeling that Honda really don't want people doing there own oil changes!!!

Tis the first time i'd done one on my teg and man it was a head fck.!

I've owned three cars previous to this one and was just wondering if there is any special way of doing this change, getting the filter off especially as it sits right under the intake manifold!!!!!

Cheers, Benny.

well its sorta easy... but a hoist makes things soooo much easier.

yeah its soooo easy with a hoist. The hardest part is not getting oil on yourself as you remove it.

Can always ram a screwdriver through the middle of the filter and twist it off.

safely jack the car up with jack stands ( never get under a car with just a jack ). get to the filter from under the car. some times you can get the oil filter off with your hands. if yo cant and you plan on doing this more than once invest in a filter removal tool, there not expensive.

BTW its a piss easy job.

I get like a bit of 80 grit sandpaper and put it abrasive side down right around the filter... you can grip it easily then.

I know this sounds reckless but why isn't it safe to go under a car that is only jacked up on one side? Especially if your drive way is flat and concreted.

Ok I will remember the car stands next time I do my oil change, but after 80,000kms and oil changes every 5K kms in my Jazz I have never changed my oil myself once.

Just buy an oil filter removal tool so you can grab it easy.

The jack the car up, take the front passenger side wheel off and its a piece of cake to do!

Just drive one side of the car up onto the gutter and jack up the side thats on the road and you will have heaps of room to move

plus if the car getts pushed it wont full to far just to be save :D
