Ever looked at your LS and thought.. Hmm, damn those indicators look dodgy with all that condensation in there?
Well i got bored and decided to figure how to solve the condensation problem in my indicators and i stumbled upon the idea of gettin rid of the amber reflectors/difusers to make the indicators look much cleaner.

This is a very very simple DIY, that will take you no more than half an hour to complete.

Before... Amber, Yukky!!

All you need to do is undo the screw to the outer side of the indicator and then pull that side that was unscrewed, towards you. then just unclip the connector and its out.

Once you have it out, undo the other screw to get the lens off. Make sure you have this other screw out, or you may end up cracking your lens!!

Next all you need is a little bit of force and pry the lens off the indicator. I found that the seals were very dry so the lens came off without any struggle. If yours is stubborn, heat it up a little with a heat gun or a hair drier, but careful not to melt the plastic!!

Now that you have the indicator apart, this is what it should look like:

Now see that little amber difuser in there? Well pull that sucker out! All you need to do to pull it out is to prise it out at the top and bottom of the indicator, there are two little tabs that hold it in on the top and bottom. and there your done!!
This is what you should have:

Now if you have a condensation problem or the inside is dirty for any reason just clean the lens or the inside with some mild soapy water and a sponge. Then dry with a clean cloth.
Now this is optional, but you can polish the inside of the lens just to give it a clearer look, but thats up to you.
Now put the rubber seal back on and do up that little screw to hold the lens in place. If you wish, you may seal the lens with some silicon.
Now all you need to do is get some amber or phantom globes to finish off your DIY and then install the indicators.

And there you have it! A nice clear indicator to add to the beauty of your vehicle!

Great write-up crispy!

This is a reversible mod and very easy to do.

There are two types of globes you can purchase to fit the indicators, clear or orange/diadem, the diference being the alignment of the pins on their base. The 90-91 tegs are meant to take the clear globes with the pins parallel to eachother. Some manufacturers are making the orange globes to suit both applications nowadays.

With a bit of coaxing you can make the diadems fit. The pins don't align perfectly, but it's a tight fit. I've had mine for a couple of years and they're still working in there.
