weird noise

i'm hearing ticking noise under/near the driver side door, wat could it be?
Is it a problem or is that normal?

Hi JDM,

I heard a noise kinda like a ticking in that area 2 - 4 days before my fuel pump went on my 88 CRX. At least the noise sounded like it was comming from underneath the d/side door, even though the fuel pump is closer to the tank (I think).

Do you have power windows? Could be the electric motor for the windows...

yeah i have power windows, the nosie isnt coming from the door it underneath/or near the driver side underneath?
Does ne1 no ne good mechanics in melb to good to?

haha jus noticed it with my car on the weekend! sounded like it was comin from behind driver side door speaker, like a analogue clock sound... played around abit this is what i got...

Accesories on- ticking
Engine on- no ticking
Window up/down- ticking
door locked- ticking
Alarm on - no ticking
Engine on for bout a minute then off- no ticking for abit, then it came back on

Very strange:confused: :confused: :confused:

Was gunna disconnect battery but couldn't be bothered reprogramming cd player:rolleyes:

The sound is more like metal clicking/ticking? I hear the sound in my mates car as well and its not a civic n we dont know wat it is, it happens when you turn off the engine? When it cools down i hear nothing? WEIRD!

i got that too..just spray some lubricant to ur timing belt..it worked for me

yeh my old EK hatch used to make that noise, sounds like it comes from the exhaust, and yeh once the engine cooled down it would stop....i never had any problems though, i just ignored it

my coupe doesnt do it, i dont think

ahhahahah get used to it man.... my car makes weird noises all the time...and its in a beautiful state of tune... it could be anything from a loose bolt or panel

i have this problem too. glad it aint anything to be concerned about. :D
