aahh sorry to sound noobish :( but whats a button clutch, whats the diffrence between a normal clutch and button??

GSI-PSI
15-07-2005, 06:55 PM
there are different stages of heavy duty clutches. Im not 100% sure exactly what a button clutch does. All i know is that a normal clutch has the clutch pedal play and this is pretty much on or off. The clutch is able to withstand much more preassure than a standard clutch and is much much harder to burn. I got waht they call a cushion button which means that i still have a little bit of play when taking out the pedal but it has pretty much the same power as a normal button clutch. This play will make it easier to drive as it is an every day car.

sweet time with low profile 17's!

get some 15 inch stokies, and some 205/60R15 cheap *new* rubber and run them at 25psi...

lots a more traction, drop the 60ft time by a tenth or two, get you closer to mid 13's i'd reckon ;)

Thanx man. I just put some new 15in rubber on my vtec rims. I bought Dunlop sport infernos 205/50/15 and they stick like shit to a blanket. They are street legal drag radials. I cant wait to go next week and run it again :D

ha ha, sweet man, perfect size

just watch the turn at the end with that rubber on such low inflation :)

try some weight reduction too, i was running that sort of mph and ET in a stripped LS with B20VTEC, i.e. weight = time

Im gonna leave the rubber on this week to practice launches off the line lol. Hey apart from the spare tyre taken out im not really sure if i can be bothered ripping all the inerior out. I dont know what else to take out hmmm.

Very impressed with your times, considering the open diff and only 120kw atw. Hope to see some good times with the semi slicks.

08-08-2005, 05:32 PM
well i noticed the last two or three days that i was losing a bit of power then i was cruisin it on sunday and heard a clicking noise as i turned. I thought for sure it was only a drive shaft. Then the noise started getting louder. I started the car and it was making the noise on idle. Popped the bonett and gassed it a bit whilst under the bonett and the clicking which had now turned into a knocking was coming straight from the engine. Exactly the same noise from when i blew my first n/a gsi motor.

same sounds as when i blew my B18C at the track - probly a spun rod bearing...

yer well im starting to get used to my bad luck. I'm changing the engine over on the weekend. Just bought a new timing belt 2 throw in aswell. Just wondering if i9 should throw in a thread with heaps of step by step pix of the swap?

Ah that really sucks dude. After all the work, i really hope its repairable... for cheap. Turbo Honda's are awesome, 13 second pass isnt nissan fast, but its a very nice sleeper, and a very fast car by any other standard.

GSI-PSI
09-08-2005, 08:52 PM
well ive still got the spare engine from the white car before it got written off so thats goin straight in on the weekend. grrrr another weekend of bush mechanics lol

oh hell yer, im just getting the feeling for the car now. Eventually what im going 2 do is rebuild one of my other engines from the ground up to make a nice strong and hopefully indestructable masterpiece lol.
