View Full Version : how many people bother to balance their clutch?

when u change to a lightweight flywheel, do u balance the clutch? be it a new or used clutch, with the new flywheel?

make sure the pressure plate doesnt have bad scoreing and u'll be fine.

GO easy on her a bit, cause the clutch will have to bed in again.

with say a new HD clutch....isnt it advised to adjust the piston inside the clutch cylinder to compensate for the harsher pressure plate ?

Yes i do, always. but you need the crank and harmonic balancer plus bolts etc to do it correctly.

Balancing is the only way for 11,000rpm +

When my engine was being built i balanced the Flywheel and Clutch with the rest of the rotation assembly. I probably wouldnt do it on its own unless you're a bit anal about that sorta thing
