Hi fellows,

Just wondering how much are the euros selling for now?

My euro is a blue 2004 lux manual.
I know mods shouldnt be worth anything but I'm got 18s, cusco strut bar, mugen gear knob, (also ordered Injen filter and Spoon springs), with a blue custom plate (12 months of rego).

Thanks in advance,

James :)

I did a evaluaton a few months ago, They were pitching around $33K.

I also have a 2004 Euro Manual. But for the mileage i had when i did the evaluation, i should get more for a low mileage. This was based assuming the car had done around 10K-15K km.

Was this with a trade in?

I've done 15k km.

I believe it was on redbook, i paid 10 bux for an evaluation. No trade in. Just how much the car was worth simply because i was curious how the system works.

Remember it's just a guideline, and the fact that your mileage is lower than the average mileage - can help you get some ground. Overall you will always get more money for a private sale.

yeah i would go private too... just thinking about some other car with better performance that's all... thanks for all the help! much appreciated.

I've already been through that phase once..

The mazda rx8 and nissan 350z. As good as they are, they have a lot of flaws that turned me off - which has made me appreciate my Euro a lot more.

Though i love the newly anticipated MY06 Subaru WRX STi. Very sleek, however i also heard that this will be the last generation before a total re-work is done for 2007. I'll be 25 by then.. CHEAPER INSURANCE lol.

But enjoy what you have, and keep looking :) The new Audi's are nice too, but not for the price, and a bit slow in performance (for some models compared to Honda Euro) - same opinion goes for a lot of other Euro cars.

I personally life NA/supercharge better. I don't like the boost lag.

Evo7's never came to Australia i thought?

No Evos are around!!

Maybe coz I used to drive a turbo... just like the rush a little more...

But then again I'm sorta wasting money since the accord is still so new

i can see where your comming from wanting the extra perfomance.

For me though a turbo car or something with a powerful v6 (e36 m3 :D) is just impractical for insurance reasons and my level of driving expereince.

I'm gonna wait it out a few years untill the insurance comes down and i've done some driver training.

Leungie, you'll still got awesome money for your euro now with low km's easily over 30,000. If you got some extra money lying around i'd bite the bullet and get the perofmance car you really want. You'll loose less money doing it while the euro is still new and in demand i think?

You are probably right... my first choice was another S15 but maybe i'll try somethign else this time - 4WD.
I'll have to see... maybe some people here can make me think differently and mod the euro instead!

The good thing with the euro is that it has the best interior out of the lot.

They're hard to find new (most 8s were sold before they arrived). Awesome car. VERY expensive insurance. Some 7s are available as grey imports (= even more expensive insurance). EVO7 is a dud (loosely applied term -- engine management problems compared to others).

EVO 3, 5, 6 (absolute weapon) or 8 are the ones to have. EVO 9 part of regular line-up soon.

(My brother-in-law crews for Ed Ordinsky and services most of the EVOs in Adelaide.)

my first choice was another S15

ah yea, i'm a huge fan of s15's. I was really close to buying one aswell but the insurance was a couple grand more per year than the euro so i couldn't really justify it.

I saw one just last night actually, parked at JB HIFI black with some nice 18" alloys, tein coilovers (judging by the decal) and a few other really tasteful mods.

So you've owned an s15 before, what made you get rid of it?

I recon they are becoming a real bang for your buck on the second hand market i'd get another one over an evo and spend the difference on some high quality mods

What made my get rid of it...
Too hot into a corner (end of forth before braking), saved the first corner only to see its actually a S bend. End of story. LOL

2 years ago and I still can't get over it, but I very much doubt if I will do stupid things like that again, just want the car again coz its so much fun.

Chris, E36 M3 is not a V6, it's a straight inline 6.

I want an E60 M5 500hp V10...now we're talking!

gotta say i have owned a few turbo cars and while they were great power makers the euro is a more enjoyable ride........drove an evo8 leather pack and even though the power was incredible it just wasnt very smooth or refined...basically nvh is like your garden variety lancer not very impressive compared to my euro...boy was it quick though....

I'm another previous turbo car owner (s15 200sx) for 2+ years. I'd take the euro over the s15 again and again and again if I had to choose between the 2.

S15 only seems to make sense on a track.. not for daily driving.

I totally disagree with that, I like the turbo rush, and letting the rear loose :D

But the accord is very smooth and refined. A good sports sedan.

In Melb... if you 'think' about going fast while sitting in a S15.. you'd get a ticket. :(

Just after you discover the on-boost power... you get into a situation where you need power and the turbo is still spooling up.. :D

The Resale Value of the car in question seemed to be leading towards the Turbo side of things :)

If there is nothing more to say about the Resale Value, it will be closed if the discussion is completed...

They are kinda demo car.... i've seen one in Bris before, asking for 62K but 60K is possible i think....

But the insurance really making me so sad, I love EVO 7 more than a Type-R now :(

Approximate resale values can always be found on www.redbook.com.au in the private user's section.

I'm quite interested to see the resale value too, the redbook however is formula based (straight-line) depreciation so it's actually not that accurate. Maybe we should have some second-hand buy price thread for people that have just bought their second-hand euro so we know the price :)

Stating: what year euro, manual/auto, std/lux, extras, kms, and what price of course!

After doing some research a few months back, i found the depreciation of Euro are around 10 - 15% per year on average and that price is based on market value with the purchase price range of $35-$36k for standard model and $42k - $45k for luxury models with kms on the range of 15k-20k per year. The figures that i mentioned before is for private sale, and not trade in value. However, you should note that the depreciation cost in the first year will be greater than 15%, but on average if you want to sell the car which is more than 1 years old, it will be around that depreciation figure.

Interestingly, despite the number of Euros out there, the price still holds pretty well, compare to other similar cars, ie. camry, which has a depreciation of around 15% mark per year based on market price. Maybe its due to the high demand for the car??
