Thats the bit I dont get. The USA spec euro has what? 147kw? And we have 140kw yet our fuel is better?? Go figure?

I wonder if a dealer could spot the reflash if theres a warranty issue. My mates got a new monaro and got the LS1 tune, pumped it up 40kw, and the dealers have no idea...

If we can get 10-15kw for a reasonable price ill be in this no worries!

That graph looks pretty damn impressive. I am thinking if its +15kw then I will want one too! hehe

awesome news. Can't wait for more details.

A question tho... as its a reflash, if my ecu needs to be reset for some reason or if the dealer decides to reset it for some reason will the flash be lost?

If it is +15Kw (i doubt it), it wont be across the rev range, nor will it be up top...it will be right where the power dip is at around 5500-6000RPM...simialr to what the hondata re-flash did for the TSX..

either way its gonna be awesome!!

I second that!!

Move the Vtec cut in point to 5000rpm and rev limiter to 8000rpm (if possible) will be awesome!

Just wondering... would that be 'unhealthy' for the engine? Or honda engines built to handle that?

From my understanding, the only negative effect of shifting VTEC to an earlier RPM is that you don't make optimum power, if not done properly.

Also unusual is the fact that they have tested on a 05 Euro (stated on their site) BUT then they say its for 03-04 Euros, but might be available for 05 euros, even though an 05 euro is clearly the test mule???

Looks the goods though.

Probably get CAI, Decent headers and the Flash and you'll be cranking bang for buck :)

Something I wasn't aware of until recently is that the US apparently uses a slightly different rating system for their fuel -- you can't equate their 91 to ours. I believe their 91 is more like our 98. I can't remember where I read about it though...

It's the high sulphur content in our fuel (I think) that makes everyone downgrade the engines coming here.

The rev limit or the VTEC point?
Changing vtec point is ok. It's just a cam switchover. No problems. But 8000rpm on a K24A3 is too much. Even the Hondata for TSX set cutoff at 7600rpm, which is only a 300rpm increase from stock.

Sulphur just clogs up direct injection systems, I don't think it forces you to detune the car to run it.

:)

based on what i saw in the posts there there are gains if you do header plus exhaust plus etc etc...hopefully still gains with minimal mods eg intake plus exhaust etc...

This is total hearsay -- but I read on the RSX forums a poster who said they recently spoke to James who said the reflash will be around $1500 for the Euro.

I can only stress that this is hearsay. The poster could be totally wrong and it may be way off. I can find the post if people really want me to - the poster clearly stated they got this info from James.

Anyway - $1500 would be a little more than I was expecting - but perhaps lets wait and see the results. We also need to keep in mind that there has been a fair bit of cost associated with the development on this product - they just can't roll out the TSX reflash for the Euro - there are differences between the 2 cars.

I hope it is about $1000 though... $1000, I can take it... but $1500... hmmm...

i hope its about $1500... i want exclusivity god damn it.

Hey - lets settle on around $1000 so everyone is happy.

Then put the $500 spare cash towards a new paint job for your Euro - bright pink. There you go - exclusivity!

I some how doubt it will be $1000 espec with all the costs in Dyno tuning sending ecus back and forth to the US. More testing blah blah. I could imagine it would be quite expensive for Jmaes.

Also the differences with the 05 ECU would have to be causing some headaches.

At the end of the day - the proof is in the pudding. If the gains are good bang for buck it will sell. Some people pay $1500+ for a good stainless steel header or twin exhaust that produces fairly limited (relatively speaking to a CAI) gains on the Euro.

But I know where aarong is coming from - $1000 I am definately there. $1500, however - I will think about it...

Im not a total tight arse but $1500 for 5 kw is NOT my idea of value for money.
Mind you if it was say $800 and gave 20nm across the rev range id jump on it.

totally bfyb in my opinion as long as it owns the powerchip chip for ratio of $$ to KW and NM then its all good...i wonder if hed discount for group buys, most of us hear are already thinking of getting it...so its like, group dealy goodness.
