is there supposed to be link to a pic/website etc?
anyway, ssautochrome don't have a good reputation for their manifolds, they have been known to crack. Most people will tell you to run away

I don't own one, nor do i know anyone that owns one, but this poor reputation seems to be consistant with who ever you ask

stay away from alll there shit. every single f8cking noob who wants to get into turbo comes across ssautocrome and asks if its good or not, just cause its bloody cheap. ffs there manifolds and downpipes suck, there turbos are cheap chinease unbalanced pos, the diaphrams in there wastegates break and overboost. they just overall suck. cheap POS suck sucksucks

I'd say the best part in that kit is the manifold.... and they suck ass.

Welcome to the world of ss auto crap. some ppl say if u brace them like its then u should be fine

http://blkcrx.hondata.com.au/mrjdm/ss%20auto%20crap/DSC00426.JPG

http://blkcrx.hondata.com.au/mrjdm/ss%20auto%20crap/DSC00428.JPG

and for some its works.......NOT.....then this happens

http://blkcrx.hondata.com.au/mrjdm/ss%20auto%20crap/img_0980.jpg

the best way to brace it is to brace the turbo to the block and take all the weight off the manifold. like the pic below
http://blkcrx.hondata.com.au/mrjdm/ss%20auto%20crap/brace%20ss%20autocrap.jpg

hope this helps...............so in conclusion listen to weq

general rule as always: u get wat u pay for!

there have been MANY people that have braced like that and still had lots of problems because the metal expands as it gets hot, and the braces keep it from doing so properly...

really, it's a lose lose situation... you can polish a turd, but it's still a turd

Say no to cheap parts, that have a bad record of always failing....

hahaha that made me chuckle.

if you want to get a turbo kit why not go local? AVO turbo kits.... they are cast manifold.

anyway, if you can afford to go turbo, then you should be able to afford a decent manifold. mine cost 900 bucks, custom made (steam pipe bending and thick plates)

i've seen these and was swayed towards getting one. luckily my engine had problems and my money has bin thrown into gettin that fixed. are there any good manifolds available in OZ?? specifically for the 'd-series'???

You guys need to also remember, that if the engine is not tuned correctly, then the exhaust manifold temperatures (esp when detonation occurs) will skyrocket, and wont help your cause either.

Either way if you were getting that sort of detonation, lean mixtures to cause such heat to blow a hole in the manifold i would hate to see the pistons on that motor. I think the only thing that blows are those manifolds

ProECU

Yeah agree,
however retarded timing "can" cause the mixture to ignite in the manifold as opposed to the cylinders where they're meant to.
