Aye
As you have guessed I am a noob with a few idea's for my 94 vti. Paid 7200 with fair new tyres. 134000 clocked. Thought that was a fairly decent deal.
I have some 18" with some nice tyres, not sure will find out. These rims are worth 2k which im getting for 800 w/tyres apparently and have only been driven for about 15mins. The noblets are still their clearly. Will 18"s fit under the guards without noise? What are my options if they do? aint been lowered and i like it at this height.
also as a cheap thing, im thinking of taking out the ?eyelet's? (The little pieces of out-of-place looking plastic under the front lights). my idea is to remove the plastic and put in some mesh. id like to set this car apart by the subtle changes. How subtle are 18"s on an eg!
can these eyelets be taken out with ease and how hard would it be to put mesh in.
air intake. is it worth a cold intake or just filter? Would it be worth the getting the pipe or just the filter?
all up im looking to spend around 2-3k
-800 (rims)
about 2k left
what would anyone recommend and help with topics is greatly thanked
thanks all who help, to those who dont, grow a welt

Ok first of all 18” are way too big for a little civic. It will slow you down so much and the ride quality will suck.
In regards to the air filter get a panel filter that fits in your standard airbox and rip out the resonator and all the rest of the junk underneath the airbox. This is a much better option than a pod filter on a short ram intake.
Grab yourself a twin loop muffler from one of our traders (TODA_AU or EGSi) and take it to your local exhaust shop for a custom cat back 2” system.
I would seriously rethink the 18” but that’s just me. I’d rather have some racy looking 16” than massive chrome things. Not to mention tires cost a mint.
i hope this helps.

agrees with loosing the 18s.
dont mean to dampen your hopes dude, and hey at the end of the day if its what you want to do, then go for it!!!!
18s not good coz too big, as ctr said it will slow you down... cost u money when the cops defect for having oversized rims and all that ladida...
better off getting smaller rims and dropping the car on its ****, gets some strut bars....

these 18" have 3 fairly thin spokes. I have already bought em. If they dont fit i will keep em long term or sell em. They are new and so are the tyres.
I have elected that $2000 towards other stuff like air filters and exaust. I dont expect to much for that but whatever works best and gives a lil more grunt with only a bunt.
thanks again guys
chris
Get 16's and work on suspension.
Take it for a bit of tracking.
Engine conversions are over rated.
usin smaller wheels with give u much more gain then havin 18s and then mod exhaust etc.
btn OMFG... chi is back

Yup
I'm going 17" :p :p :p
I know I shouldn’t and I’ll more than likely lose power but I just love the look of EG’s dumped on 17”

18s dont hamper the performance that much, Ive had them on my vtir for 4 days already and its not that bad..
Tread your looking at about 170 a corner for something like 215/35/R18.. The tread by all means isnt the best you could buy, im using nankangs at the moment and they're fine for street use.

hmmm $7200 is a good deal for the amount of k's on the clock... good job.
what colour is the car? that makes some diff tot what you do LOL.... i think you would probably appreciate a good set of dampers and springs... but if you like the look of the 18s then maybe a kit to round it all off??

dont worry if you've already bought the 18s and they look good then just put them on :) but if you're going to lower your car its gonna be a pain in the a** or you probally wont be able to. with the rest of the money, u said u wanted lil more guts than stock, get a full catback exhaust system from engine to muffler, should set u bak about 1000. and regarding looks get a dark black tint and the angel/daemon eye headlights, u can see some pics of them in appearance section they're really hot on EGs.

i agree with mg3610.. intake/headers/exhaust will set u back about $1000 and will make your car look and definately sound better, some angel eyes projector lights will cost u around $300 give or take and tint would cost maybe $300 and u would still have around $400 to spare.. maybe a head unit or some speakers..

Your stockies are 14" I think. If your stockies were 16" then the 18" would be legal but look on the driver’s door that will tell you what your car came standard with. im almost postive that you will find that the standard wheels are 14"
I’m not even sure if the datto wheels are compatible with your car. Do you know what the offset is? (It’s a number like 35+)
Nankang rubber is cheep. Can’t say I’m a fan but most people find it ok

18's are too big IMO, but whatever floats your boat..
those 'eyelets'- u talking bout on the front bumper? if so, they are easy to cut out. i just took the bumper off and used a drill (for pilot holes) and an angle grinder to cut the plastic out.
i also replaced the intake with cold air system with piping through to front of bumper- air comes in through newly made hole!

i say pump all your money into handling and braking mods... you can't go wrong with these

just go for the 18's if you just want your ride to look good.

I reckon 18's may look too big on an EG. Either go 16's or 17's and go with the cold air induction, I really dn't see the point in replacing the existing panel filter...although it is the legal alternative...
