"The Accord 2.2 i-CTDi features a 2.2 litre 16V, DOHC common rail direct injection turbo diesel engine with 103kW of power. A combined fuel consumption of 5.4 litres per 100km (Tourer 5.8 litres per 100km) and peak torque of 340 Nm at just 2,000 rpm, deliver a blend of performance, refinement and efficiency to compete with the very best in the market."

I tried to buy a Honda Euro Accord diesel and found that Honda Australia has no plans to bring this engine into Australia. I think the market is growing wildly for diesel cars and OZ is catching up fast. I predict Honda OZ may change its mind. They have a great engine to bring into this country. The 2.2 diesel won the engine of the year in Europe I thinkl it was for this year. I have been driving diesel cars for 12 years and they just keep getting better and more fun to drive too.

thats quite a bit of torque on the diesel !

a bit weak for a turbo powered car tho? or is this because of the diesel system ?

i doubt you will see many japanese diesel cars sold here in australia as even the european cars are having a hard time trying to crack into the market...

I doubt they would bring the Euro diesel here either as the petrol version is selling so well, I doubt a diesel would add too many sales. They would be better off importing the Euro Wagon or Euro R to match up with the Liberty.

Diesel euro will come here, probably be launched when the next model/next update euro is released.

Never believe what the dealers tell you as you would be surprised just how little they knew about upcoming models.

Diesel is more expensive tan Unleaded fuel but when you see how many kms it does in one liter of diesel, that make main difference.

Unleaded Full Tank = 550 Kms
Diesel Full Tank = 1050 Kms

on the topic kind of.... just wanted to ask what diesels are like to drive? i mean they produce such a bitchload of torque at 2000rpm... my car doestn produce that until 7600rpm fffs...

but diesel cars generally have less KW...

so 0-100 wise would a say.... 120 KW max torque at 7600rpm car win?

or would the 85kw max torque at 2000rpm car win?

wot about the response on these things? as in downgearing and throttle response?
