SRS light stays on

Hey guys... I have a DC2R and the SRS light stays on all the time. This indicates that there is a problem with my airbag system. Is there anything I can check myself? I've already checked the fuse and it's fine. Should I take to autoelect or honda service centre? My interior light also doesn't work. Fuse not blown and bulb ok. Thanks

most probably your SRS ECU is gone.

best thing is to go to Honda Dealer, they will test and find out Error Code from SRS ECU and will let you if something can be done.

new SRS ECU will cost around $800.

OMG!! $800... Damnz.... but due to my interior light not working either, maybe there's just a short circuit somewhere? that's why i was thinking about autoelect. I've recently had an alarm installed and also a cd player

My F#ucking Odyssey SRS light came on last year, took it to Honda to have a look, they wanted $1200 to change the SRS ECU. I didn't do it and found this (http://www.hondapitstop.com/accord/technotes1/SRS/srs.html) works, and it fixed the problem. The SRS light still comes on occasionally, but the above link/method will fit it.

I do this almost every month on my Odyssey, turn the SRS light off and haven't deployed the SRS YET!!

it could just be the SRS code, when Honda took my steering wheel off and put it back on again the light came on and they just had to put in the SRS code.

My SRS light came on not too long ago and wouldnt go away so i took it to Honda and they fixed it free of charge.

Maybe it was nothing serious in my case but probably best to get it checked out to see what the problem is then you can decided what you want to do.

yes , this Sh*t comes back occasionally, roughly every 30 days, and I think depends on the weather too

I say just sell the air bags, (and the ecu for it), thats what I did, no srs for me! Now I just need to take the damn bulb out! The fuse wont make it go off.

you can check the srs ecu for codes, look for the yellow short connector under the drivers side dash.
