Hey guys,

Just a quick question before I start pulling the car to pieces.

How are you guys running your cabling to your amps?

At the moment I'm only running one small amp (under seat) so I've simply snuck in with some other cabling through the firewall, however, will soon be upgrading to two larger amps and where I have run my cable at the moment won't accomodate anything larger than whats there.

So, I've had a quick look see and there appears to be a loom entering the car (EK civic) just adjacent the A/C blower box (passenger footwell). Also this loom is rather small but the entry is large (it almost appears to be a oval shaped flexible rubber hose). This would be almost ideal - however I can't see where this enters on the engine side as the chassis/batter/fuse or relay box is obscuring view.

Without pulling these out to have a look, has anyone else done this?

Cheers

Yeah mate, read it, however, the similar grommet to the EK you've used has already been taken up with other devices, so I'm ideally after an alternative route through the wall without drilling, specifically closer to the battery and not on the driver side if possible.

I ran mine down the drivers side. Theres a pre drilled hole near your reservoirs (comes through above/right the gas pedal) which can easily accomidate upto/including 2gauge cabling. Run your amps from the boot

should be gromets in the firewall large enough for that. its probly easier to look in the engine bay for the grommets as they are hard to find "black on black"

Theres also a gromet covering a firewall hole to the bottom-left (looking head on to the car) of the battery. Its slightly bigger than a 50c piece. Comes out behind the glovebox.

Already run my cruise control cabling through here  .

Thanks Z, will have a closer look, missed this one..

LOL, I guess it does pay to have a white car.

I've already got a Optima d51 on board, and the tempory fuse is sitting exactly where yours is, hehe....

i didnt want to drill any plastic (there was plastic behind the firewall plug), so i took my battery out and ran the wire through a little rubber thingo there, it ran down near the passengers feet.

Yeah, that's probably where I'll run mine through on closer inspection, I doubt a heavy gauge cable would be able to bend in behind the A/C ducts terribly well. And the rubber "thingo" is on a good angle so the cable should follow the floor pan without too much persuasion (sp* hehe)... Cheers guys...
