Hey guys i am looking at buying a 94 VTI-S Accord. Manual. are there hidden niggiling, pain in the penis type things that could be easily looked over by a mechanic.

I am getting RACQ to check it over but is there anything u guys reccomend to really check?

Any help would be great

Thanks Guys.

What kinda k's does it have?

Not that it makes a big difference, they're pretty bullet proof.

Just get it checked out properly for piece of mind, does it have a service history, good maintanance record? This is more impartant the k's.

Compression test would be pretty important, I can't think of anything off the top of my head that would be a problem.

For example 6th gen accords, auto trans is pretty dodgy but I'm sure others might come up with something.

Besides the stupid aerial.

there arent any really common major issues, 184k is fine as far as milage goes. A decent mechanical check should show anything that is out of the ordinary and will cost a lot of money

When I purchased my VTi 4 years back, the first thing that needed to replace was the clutch master cylinder... that was at 120k on the clock.

I recently had to change it again, at 270k. Nothing major... cheap to fix.

During the past 4 years putting on 150,000 km, the most expensive job that had to be done was replacing the clutch and the belts, $1200 all up.

Try to bring down the price if the belts have yet to be changed.

Oh yeah.... forgot one thing, check on the alternator and amp output, I remember a lot of my interior bulbs and the headlights kept blowing out.

Good luck.
