hi
im jus wondering has anyone installed the injen short ram IS1450 intake system for there dc2 vtir??

if you did how much power did u gain and any benefits, sound difference ...etc...

i am considering between the IS1450 or the RD1450.

i know the RD1450 is capable of addin 10 kw i jus want to compare it with the IS1450 cause i am worried about gettin the RD1450 and water gettin in there.

In traders there is Comptech Ice box for sale. They pretty much come up as the best on the test sheets. They gained about 8hp over stock...

Does anyone know HP to KW conversion?

yea the comptech does look good on those graphs,
however, Adrian at toda racing highly recommend the injen rd 1450.
so yea, i've taken his advice over a graph =D

Just remember that dyno comparison everyone refers to was done on a civic, not an Integra, so apart from the engines being different, the intakes are also different. Thus, I don't think a comparsion can be made in Integras. As well, the injen intakes also come in an adonised black colour, making them less obvious in the engine bay. In terms of hydrolock, unless you enjoy going off road and driving through rivers, Injen won't be a problem....

Where can you buy injen intakes?

Ummm i thourght the comparison graphs were done with an Acura Integra GSR (Honda Integra VTIR here in aus) i may be wrong though.
From the research ive done on the net the Comptech CAI seems to be the best.

lol felix, i thoguht the same thing, thats why i posted the graph in the integra section, i was sure i saw something about gsr but i think it was on another site.

all in all, injen has highest hp, so basically injen is best for drags,
comptech best for track. =D
both have its pros and cons,
i rekcon the cai from injen is like getting a 4-1 header (very jdm and made for top end)
where as the comptech is like buying a 4-2-1 more for the mid range power gains.

Felix

Yeah i mostly want mid range gains.....

on the injen website they got the dyno for the gsr???? im pretty sure

i prefer the injen :D it looks better and shinyy *bling bling factor*
unlike the comptech looks like plain and boringg

In terms of hydrolock, unless you enjoy going off road and driving through rivers,

LOL i want to go to the oceans,.... ahah narh im kinda worried cause perth has realli shit weather and the roads gets flllooded some times

so the comptech has better power gains throughtout the midrange?
any one got comptech icebox?? can u still hear the air gettin sucked in, but not as loud as an injen??

the comptech is like $595 :( , ill jus see how much the injen cost first

typsy
21-07-2005, 11:24 PM
you can still hear the air being sucked in but very faintly, especially with an exhaust as well. the injen makes a badass noise, similar to a blow off valve. Competch does not cost $595, you can find one on ebay from the US for cheaper. I ordered just the icebox for $275 delivered.

tengsta
21-07-2005, 11:26 PM
ohh kool
well hondar is seellling the full set for 595 i fink

i guess it jus depends on your needs

kousoku

tengsta
21-07-2005, 11:29 PM
can u get the injen short ram intake and put the comptech box around it??? :D

aahah dont???
dont tell him that it cost 295??

typsy
21-07-2005, 11:32 PM
yeh i reckon it will fit but not perfectly. I have the Icebox wrapped around my Apexi filter with the stock ITR intake arm. The lid doesnt close properly. you have to make the hole a bit bigger and it will fit perfectly. Dont have time atm but will do in the future. Dont really like the foam filter that comptech makes. Trust me, the Icebox is bigger than it seems.

tengsta
21-07-2005, 11:36 PM
kool fankz ill prbly get both the icebox and injen short ram and merge them together hahaahah :p

go compteech and injen :D
so now i dont have to worry bout which one to get

kousoku
21-07-2005, 11:40 PM
lmao tengsta, you do know that comptech already makes that?
its the ice box, and a stainless steal arm that goes to the intake valve,
so in your terms its a comptech ice box with injen short ram intake.
lol
only differnce is that you would have a injen filter.

but its up to you =P

tengsta
21-07-2005, 11:42 PM
aahahha damm mi baddd

its such a hard choice.... if only i had lots of money i would buy both and see which one is better... or maybe buy one for summer and one for winter

kousoku
21-07-2005, 11:45 PM
lol, i would buy ebay though seems muich cheaper,
you can get the whole complete system deleivered for cheaper then jsut teh half kit on ozhonda.
that is if you avoid tax =P

tengsta
21-07-2005, 11:53 PM
ok ok ill buy injen from you and comptech from ebay :D

kousoku
21-07-2005, 11:58 PM
lmao its not from me, just i benefit from cheaper price if you do buy =D
