bought a 94 civic vti gots vtech... fun fun fun.
clocked 134k and has a sterio with 9 by somthings
bought it off my dads mate. both of which are cops
their are a fair few things wrong with it and just wondering if someone pulled a stunt on me!!!???!!!
the seats are missing attachments to the floor so when no one is in the passenger it sounds like a window is rattling. both seats are bolted to the floor by 3 things
the steering wheel has a bit warn off at the top
the passenger side electric window wont go up from the drivers side
the security system is busted
broke a coil in the engine or something coast $180 to fix. parts inc
its leaking power steering fluid
how many km's should all these things be looking to die. roughly.
i g2g but ill update you on the rest when i write down a full list
cheers

used cars are FULL of things "wrong". Parts rattle, bits are worn , funny smells etc.
Get used to it - a car will not be perfect once a person has owned it - let alone for 11 years !
I highly doubt you have been "jipped".
Something i know is that you have failed to research used cars of this market better so you cold tell for yourself whether it was worth the purchase price.

it depends how much you paid for it.
Some of those things you should have noticed or gotten check when you were buying it (eg: the windows)
Other things are just ware and tare which come with anything as ben said (the steering wheel ware for example)

yep its a used car. Plain and simple. Hopefully it wasnt expensive as hell.
You were jipped because you bought a Honda.

Maybe checking the car before you bought it would have helped. And as everyone else said it's not a new car. If you want to know if you've been jipped tell us how much u paid for it and we'll let you know. All of the repairs you need are minor, powersteering can be expensive tho. A bit more prior research would have probably helped you or maybe buying a new car instead of a used one.

You were jipped because you bought a Honda.
get some bolts from the hardware store or the wreckers, the powersteering leak is a common problem with older eg's, espcailly if someone has filled it up with non-genuine fluid! Put some geniune stuff in it, my slow leak came to a halt after i did that.
power windows, u can pull off the door trim and lube up the rail. thats probably the biggest cause.

sounds like the window wiring is faulty. replace it yourself, its not hard. after 11 years of life youd expect a bit of wear, on the sterring wheel is pretty common if the sun shines on it a lot. Did you mean the bolts were missing or the metal you use to bolt to the car was missing? Dont know why a bolt in the seats would be missing, but just go buy some (you only need a pair dont you?) and some rubber grommets if your chairs keep rattling. So far these costs would be around 10 dollars. Iive got a crappy alarm in my car, they get busted. A new one is a few hundred bucks. So far you're totalling maybe 500 to get all this stuff fixed (minus the power steering, you better get a mechanic to look at that), which isnt too bad for a used car that old. I had to replace the exhaust on mine when i bought it, and wheel alignment was WAY out, the ariel was busted and a bunch of other stuff, but just get it fixed i say.
You were Jipped big time cos u think u got a Vtec when really its a SOHC Vtec, all ur gonna get is a fuel efficient car and not the BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABAAAABABABAABABBABABBA u were hopping for.
Get ur Cop dad to go do a "Rodney King" on that dudes ass.

erm, approximately 100% of those things should have been discovered before you even considered purchasing that car.
In any case, you're looking at a bit of money. Seats are easy and cheap, and the window can't be too bad if you know what you're doing. It is possible the switch on the drivers panel is nutted, in which case you might need the whole thing (wreckers are unlikely to sell one part of such a commonly broken and expensive item). The power steering leak is uncool and probably not cheap. Get it fixed, steering is important.
You seriously didn't check this out before shelling out 7k??
