hey guys  sorry for all those questions & troubles from before.
Anyway i finally made up my mind about my 1st car, i m going to buy the :honda: Euro Luxury '05 AT... ;)
$43,000 for Euro Lux '05 AT, wif tinited window, floor mat, reverse sensors, rear spoiler... the price seem reasonable but i m not sure if i want the spoiler cos if i dun want it i can save $1000 more.
But i still could not make up my mind about these thing:
Do you reckon it is worth gettin the spoiler??
What colour should i get??

Get a manual then worry about the colour :P
the spoiler is a complete waste of $1000, and it looks bad.
mite as well spend $1000 on a nice set of rims or something else :)
I vote NO SPOILER!
And reconsider the auto. Nothing wrong with it but you were talking about turbo charging the Euro a few posts ago. Maybe not the car for you if you are already thinking about a turbo charger.

yes, better without spoiler..
get the dark grey or black colour.. they look hot
black w/out spoiler and maybe some 18" rims
Usual Suspect

and i trust u guys, so i decided no spoiler... but the colour is a step for me... i like the Nighthawk Black Pearl, Arctic Blue Pearl or Graphite Pearl, but dunno which ones to pick... the black one look pretty sweet, but the interior is ivory trim, i kinda like black bit more..

you really need to ask yourself what you like, what you dont like.. its ok to read on others opinions but u do get alot of biased opinions.
In my opinion, follow your heart, you like pink interior.. then get it, you like 20'chromes..why not. It seems like u are just asking people to choose ur car for you. If thats the case get a pinky steering wheel and be cool like me :D

Hi,
From your reading your post, you dont like ivory interior and it is hard to maintain. So the only color left is graphite, blue or silver. Given these, I would choose between the graphite and silver.
If you could get a 1000 discount without the spoiler, lose them. My euro has the spoiler thrown in for free but my dealer didn't offer me a 1k discount if I didn't want it. Now on the back of my mind, I keep telling myself the euro looks better without the spoiler. If you want to put on a spoiler, it will only looks good if the car has the full bodykit.
By the way, you got a great deal. Which dealer and which state?

All i can say is mate, buy the damn car first, cream as many bonuses out you can from the dealer. Mud flaps, tints, bonnet protecters etc After when you get a good price then save up and mod it. For now focus on the deal. Have you driven the car yet? if you think it suites all your needs, negotiate the price, tell the dealer about the mazda 6 dealer across the road :P and bling bling you ahve good deal.
Also colour advice, focus on interior. get any colour besides white. i didnt like it.
The new red is good. The black interior is managable, the white seats will give you a hard time taking care of.

Colour choice is very simple, IMO.
Graphite pearl, satin silver and nighthawk black are the best looking colours.
Forme, black was definitely out because the mismatch of ivory coloured plastics with black plastic dashboard trim looked too horrible for me to accept.
Silver was out because my previous car was silver so I'm sick of it.
That left me with graphite pearl, which also happens to be the most popular colour according to the dealer.
With classy cars like the Euro, it's always best to stick to darker colours as they are likely to fetch more money when selling it privately down the track.
Other than those 3 colours, none of other colours really tickly my fancy.
oh, BTW, i forgot to add, ditch the auto and get manual.
You probably don't know much about cars and how to drive it properly yet, but when you learn in the future, you'll be glad you got manual because you can always decide what rev range you wanna be in rather than waiting for the bloody auto to shift up/down. Also, you'll be happy that you have more ratios to play with.

I have graphite pearl and enjoy the exterior, its sometimes blue under the bright sky. black at night. it reflects different note of colours at different times. the interior is also black which i love. The white would get dirty to quik.
Something to think about in regard to colours is how meticulous are you going to be about keeping it clean. Dark colours look good when washed and polished but are an abolute sod to keep looking good.
If you always want your car looking good then seriously consider the lighter colours. It all depends on how hard you want to work on keeping your car clean and where you will be parking it.

spoiler or $1000 discount (i decided to get the $1000 off
reverse parking sensor
5% discount, everytime i go back and serive the car
The dealer is Larke Hoskins Honda, Sydney, NSW...

good choice of car.
btw the Mugen Euro R body kit doesn't exist.
There are a couple of mugen body kits available and the euro-R is a seperate kit which comes on the euro-R's in japan and some other countries.
If you want something younger looking and racey go the mugen i recon, nice lookin kit.
If you want a more mature and classy look i'd be going with the euro-R
Maybe send a PM to Pum[z] or one of the other members with the Mugen bodykit because i have no idea about prices

why not get discounts over the reverse sensors as well? dealers are always charging times more for accessories!!! i just installed the MDX with 6 sensor kit and it only costed me 200 included installation!!
but if i were you, i would choose nighthawk black!!! hehe,,, hard to maintain but once you looked it well it will shine-off other cars...

Sheesh all you folks complaining about the spoiler, I mean wtf? I have seen plenty of Euro's roaming around with spoilers on, they must be all wrong too, I actually like it, breaks up the standidness (my new word) of the car, makes it unique and a little more sporty. Of course matching sideskirts and underspoilers would be nice with it but we can't all afford the extra 4 grand can we? :)

mugen is the racing performance division of honda, as is Spoon. its like TRD/TTR is for toyota, mazdaspeed for mazda, nismo for nissan, etc etc
its called the mugen kit. i ordered mine from carquest in perth. thats the only place that i know that sells replica mugen kits in oz. theres 1 other place that sells it but its the genuine authentic thing, made from plastic. thats from IS Motoracing in sydney. Its up to you basically. $2500 for replica fibreglass front/rear/side/spoiler + shipping to sydney + primer/paint/fit or $5500 for genuine plastic front/rear/side + shipping to australia from japan + fit.

BusterSonic12 do a google search for euro-R kit.
It'll probably be cheaper than the mugen and looks just as good.
Maybe look through the forums for a thread about LOC888's and pum[z]'s car it'll basically give you the mugen vs. euro-r comparo your lookin for.
I'd save the money and go euro-R

i've already bought my euro, in AT, even though i could've bought the MT.
its a personal thing, im a very lazy guy and where i drive everyday there is alot of traffic and alot of hills... so in the end i just couldnt be bothered.
if u want more performance, definitely go with the MT, the AT gearbox as far as i've experienced seems to be tuned for "cruising" - which can be frustrating at times.
$42k for euro lux AT is definitely a good buy, i would've bought the lux if i had the money becuse for the extra $5k u get so much more, even more so now that u get 17" rims.
i've got a question though, with the factory bodykits that u can option, are they dealer fitted or factory fitted? because i've already bought my car, but i would like the bodykit (without spoiler) and if i can bargain the dealer down to $2k for the lip kit i might just get it. i know its dumb and i should've bargained with him while getting the car but i just didnt think it was the only option back then.

you can get mugen replica from CarQuest in Perth (http://www.carquest.com.au/)
*finally remember the name :D*
I strongly suggest u to persuade ur dad to get a manual
arguments u can use (if ur dad is concerned about safety issue)
(1) cheaper to buy(save u ~2000$)
(2)use less fuel
(3)easier(cheaper) to maintain
(4)Manual not neccesary to be faster off the mark unless u r a professional driver.
(5) Manual is safer to drive esp in high pressure turbo car. because u have total control of gears and maintain the engine speed(rev) . a powerful car with AT can be dangerous as sudden unwanted kick down during cornering can cause the car to lose control.
u can tell ur dad that Manual not equal fast car. u can get a very old slow volvo with manual box (no offense to volvo drivers. in fact, my dad had a Volvo760)

I like the auto, but sometimes do crave the manual euro because i know what im missing on. i test drove one but at the end of the day.... i see others in there old holden and fords and say to my self "Damn im lucky"
Auto or manual your choie

It's a real shame he's getting a Euro cos by the time he's on his P's it will be in ruins cos of his inexperience. Poor Euro. Plus he won't get a chance to fang it cos he's on his L's and his daddy prob won't let him. Wasted Euro :p If he does get a chance to fang it he'll prob plough into something solid. Poor Euro again...

Hey mate, lol i bought the euro for long term. Going to keep it as long as i live. If i ahve money when im older ill buy an M3 but thats not the point.... i bought the uro because its jap car and after 5 years it will be good car as anything else on the market in the same price range. The onyl reason my dad bought me the euro because its dangerous to learn on Ls on big FWDs and i still ahve my euro after all this time.
If he does get a chance to fang it he'll prob plough into something solid. Poor Euro again...
That said - bloody difficult car to lose control of and is quite safe. I can't think of a car I have driven that is so easy to control for the average driver. Much easier, for example, to oversteer and lose control in a base model Commodore. Euro has also some of the best brakes in the business in wet conditions (better than even the $90k BMW 330 - see latest Wheels mag). Maybe his dad just wants a safe car for him?

Car is safe but if your doing to drive like an idiot..... no comment. This bloke i know has a v8 new falcon and he is doing heavy handbreaking turns etc burnouts... .. hes an idiot. now they are stealing his license away because he smasged into someones car lol.

like yfin said the euro is a very safe car.
And if his parents have decided to and can spend the money on a good car what better choice than the euro?
The way i see it they are buying him a nice luxurious car that isnt tooo fast but still sporty and is also very safe so later on he'll have the experience to move up to the evoX or whatever his relatives have.
I have a mate who's 18 year old sister has a brand new slk350 bought for her after she got into pharmacy at uni. and were talking 100,000 plus on road for that. But shit somewhere along the line someone worked for that money so who are we to judge? Tall poppy syndrome i think
Personally i'm looking foward to when he sells the car i might get some cheap parts :D

Euro is a safe car, I agree, but in the hands of an inexperienced driver, anything can happen. Oversteer is one thing, understeer is another, and the Euro has plenty of the latter.
Hot into the corner, late braking due to misjudgement, turn, understeer, plough gutter. I guess you have to be going pretty fast to do that, but I mean for a male, P platers, car enthusiest....who can tell?? I know half of my friends were total maniacs when they were fresh on P's (including myself :P). Luckily all of them are still alive and pretty tame and safe drivers now.

asian parents tend to buy nice cars for their kids!
i've got friends in singapore that drive nice cars once they got their licence..
it's worse off cause of the prices of cars in singapore..
1 got a brand new modena 360...(approx. 800 000Aud)
1 got a new lambo
2 got SLKs...(1 of them upgraded to a boxter recently)
1 got a 320i
i wrote off my first car, a rover 75(150k Aud) 6 months after i got my licence. then i got a brand new W211 E200.
now i'm studying in Aud..so a nice euro!

being azn myself, wealthy families can afford to buy sons and daughters nice cars...at the end of the day i just dislike them when they show pony there cars around and disrespect other rides, because daddy or mummy bought it for them...alot of international drivers especially asians are not good drivers, because i have so many international friends with nice cars but cannot drive for nuts (thats just my opinion)...but if your fortunate enough to recieve a nice car as a first car great...just learn to drive.
the euro is a great car, and you do see alot of young asians driving them, at the end of the day the most important thing is your driving skills not the car, i will say this now you will have accidents even when you drive like a granny they are unavoidable, so practice practice until your comfortable...i love the euro :D and good luck with your new car.

btw, do you realise that australia have more fatalities in car accidents that asian countries?i dont wanna start a war here..but thats the fact..i am an int student myself..
everytime where there is a public holiday or long weekend, i cant believe that the australian government already predicted that how many people are gonna die due to road accident..whereas in asian countries, do you hear that?the answer is NO..
coming from a country where almost everyone start to drive at 15 or 16 years old, i dont see a 20years old australian have more experience than me..
$0.02
So when will u pick up ur ride??
I suggest to take it easy to start with. I used to be a crazy driver when I first got my license. I used to think I am invincible, Scheumacher the 2nd.... Not util I attend a defensive driving course. I realised how bad I was. So strongly recommanded for everyone. young /old..

Yea lowering is always good on a euro, in my opinion enhances the looks heaps.
Artic blue is a really good colour  i think they would look good with those dark metallic sort of rims aswell.
if your going blue i'd reccomend the full euro-R kit and some 5 or more spoke dark metallic rims in 18" and a drop.
ie. LOC888's ride but blue and with darker rims - would look cool

Get silver if you think graphite is too common.
Too vibrant colours like blue and red doesn't go with the Euro at all.

coladuna - it really depends what look he is going for tho don't you think?
he's pretty young and with nice rims, body kit etc. i think a more vibrant colour has the potential to look great on the euro.
I'll post a pic of a reall nice blue one if i can find it.
Dark and more "classic" colours like silver really do suit the car tho (totally agree with coladuna there) and would be a great choice too- given the right mods can look down right nasty too in black

Whilst trying to keep on topic as best we can - can you send me a source for this? When I was in Vietnam for 4 weeks I saw more crashes than I have in 28 years in Australia.
---- update -- actually I just answered my own question by doing a search

http://www.factbook.net/EGRF_Regional_analyses_AsiaPacific.htm
Australia deaths in 1997 in vehicles - 1768
South East Asia road deaths in 1998 - 118,608
Somehow I think Asian countries have more fatalities. Are you looking at some sort of weird "per km" travelled figure or something.

No factory GPS available for the Euro in Australia - not yet anyway. I would not be surprised to see this as an option soon. You need to get an aftermarket GPS - they are cheaper and some are portable which is handy.

World population (http://www.indiana.edu/~act/focus1/tlc/asia/tot_pop_asia.htm)
are you comparing between 1 australia and 11 southeast asian countries?
if you take a look at the link above, Australia have a population of around 20mil and Southeast asia have around 505mil..taking the figures from your post and do some maths Australian death toll is 0.1% of the total population and Southeast asian death toll is 0.02% of the total population..
