What are your opinions on these.

I think its time for new disks for the ol civic and these might be a worthwile alternative to the OEM disks.

i have the slotted and drilled ones and unfortunatley they have cracked around the holes..so go for the slotted only pads..

and don't use race pads either...i was using some EBC greens and they warped the discs in no time!..now i have some bendix advanced and they are fine..

I know a few Honda guys that use EBC with no problems...

yeh some people have warping problems with EBC green. I've been told that Bendix Ultimates are an excellent pad, and was also investigating Cobalt GT-Sport pads from the US.

The DBA slotted rotors are pretty good, and quite cheap for what they are IMO

And these are guys that used them on the track... :P

Each to his own, that's why there are different brands out there.

I'm not sure about the slotted rotors, but the slotted and drilled rotors are not to be used on the track according to DBA.

I would stay away from DBA if you plan to do circuit work every now and then. Too many horror stories with cracking and warped discs.

Brembo do produce disc's for the honda's, the only problem is finding a place that can get them. [insert importer/distributor here]

Or else you can go for some serious stopping

not the standard size replacement discs, larger discs with 6pot calipers etc.. are very expensive.

The Si brakes aren't actually that bad if you whack on some good pads on them.

Racebrakes have a good reputation here in Melbourne. I was gonna either get RB's or EBC's for mine before i decided to sell... :D

I have a set of ENDLESS pads if anyone still wants them... Never used, suit to fit EG6/9 JDM. Check if it fits OZ EG Si civics... Look on the 4 sale section.

Sometimes you wish that the Aus market is a big as the States.

The drilled variety of discs are designed to be used at constantly high temperatures.....i.e. Track work. If not, they are subjected to constant heating and rapid cooling thus causing them to crack around the drill holes.
For street braking you don't need drilled rotors......the slotted ones do a fine job of clearing the disc surface of water and crud and also stop outgassing (fade) at high temps. I've got a set of slotted rotors and some bendix ultimates and they are great. The ultimates are a compromise between a race pad and a street pad. Greenstuff and such need to be brought up to fairly high temps to be effective.

Thats generally because people are too stupid to read the manuals that come with the rotors.

In the documentation with the rotors it says "NOT FOR TRACK USE" yet people moan and bitch about how bad the product is because they have chosen the wrong product for the job. Sort of like choosing a BB gun to blow up a tank sort of analogy.

I have run the Drilled and slotted on my car for almost 2 years, no cracking no warping.

Yes, that's true with everything... read the fine print. :P
