i was wondering when an engine is at its brink of its lifetime...like having toooooo many k'z on d clock and about to die, how do you actually rebuild it?
i mean would it run as brand new??

Anyways, why would you build an engine that is almost at the end of its life. By than the car would be worth less than what an engine would cost or even to fix. Why not throw the POS out and get yourself a another car.

Strip it down. Get the cylinders honed. Oversize bearings, new seals and gaskets. Head to be refurbished. Valves re-set. Prolly new valve springs. Cam will be worn etc.

About 4-5 grand to get a Honda engine done professionally.

Prolly about the same if you try to do it yourself as it's not easy and you will prolly screw it up. Been there done that.

Get a short block instead or a low km JDM engine - it's a lot cheaper.

Me - I'd get a low km runner.

from what i think a short block is only the engine without accessories and bits on it.. eg. distriutor, starter,pumps, stuff like that.
