Possible clutch problem with ek1?!?!?

Hey all. Does anyone here know what the heck could be making a wierd clanging sound when I started my car up. It sounds like it's coming from just beside the engine, & stops when I put my foot on the clutch. It tinging like there's something loose in there or something. Crap, I called my mechanic, & he's gonna look at 5pm, but I wanted to see if anyone could point me in the right direction of the problem...? :( :(

yea, the mechanic just had a look at it. But of course the damn sound had gone away... But he said it could be the spigot bearing or something like that, & that it shouldn't be a major problem... I hope he's right...

probablt the thrust bearing or the ISB

i had a similar problem, but it ended up being my cv joints. it could possibly be that.
