I think it means your car is being starved of fuel when you turn the corner?? ....i dont think its a good thing....but dont think it would be that uncommon...
How hard are you taking the corners??

Sounds like normal operation with the engine cutting in and out of VTEC.
Provided the car is mechanically sound and you have no ECU problems, then there is nothing to worry about. You should be fine dropping in and out of VTEC.

means u didnt come into the corner hot enough..........or are in the wrong gear.......drop down a gear, compression lock the front wheels so u skid a tad b4 the corner and milk the accelerator........ :D

As i sorta mentioned above, u need an upgraded anti-surge tank, which maintains an even flow of fuel to the engine, as forces from accelerating, braking and cornering can interrupt the flow of petrol through the fuel system. Hence your a/f could be quite lean for short periods of time.

Keep this on topic.

check your oil level
vtec oil pressure, and lack of it, causes vtec to drop out whilst cornering hard.
might be off topic? but does the 2000 v6 accord(manual) come with vtec and how does it kick in?

Just floor the god dam thing!!!!!

I think you will find that another factor for vtec engagement is vechicle speed. As such, you are probably dropping out of its speed range while cornering.

minimum speed is 30kmh
he would have to be cornering pretty slow.

LOL
It sounds like just a simple problem where he isn't keeping the car in its powerband (VTEC) while cornering, hence its dropping out of VTEC.
Just change your driving style or get closer spaced gear ratios.

what causes you to have no vtec when u should have vtec?

speed above 30km/h
water temp about 60c
oil pressure
i think =)
i'd say it's the oil pressure.

the reason that i had no vtec is that when cornering hard around the corner, the oil in the motor shifts to one side (low on oil) and causes it to cut off, even when your at 5500 to 8300 rpm.
CHECK YOUR OIL PPL once a week or so. :!:

Civic Type R - How do you get it when you launch? I thought you had to be over 30km/h to activate the solenoid? :? Somebody please explain! Can you adjust that with a VAFC or something?!??!?
