How good are those recaro copy seats? The ones that look like DC2R but don't have recaro written on them?
A friend is interested but I heard some mixed comments about them. Some say they are as good as recaro's and others say that they are weak and in an accident they break?

they look good man.. i htought about etting copies as well
but seriously the thing with copies is that u NEVER EVER know who made them... and if u do have an accident, u might get focked over with ur copies whereas u might ahve survived with ur original seats
for the same money that copies go for (i think around 500 nowdays) u might as well get autotechnica or monza or some cheap OFFICIAL brand

yeah not a great idea safety wise.
you can also feel the difference comfort wise, they aren't as snug and don't hug u as much

yea, i would stay away from imotations aswell, like everyone said about the safety issues that would come with a seat that has been made quick and cheap with no research in its safety design.

I dont think the copies are ADR approved.
on top of the safety issue, if you have an accident and have ADR unapproved seats in your car and you are injured you will prob void your insurance.
when looking at buying something make sure it has been ADR approved, seat or anything else, a lot of steering wheels are the same.

8 months ago I got pulled over and defected. I had the genuine OEM red recaros in my civic on genuine EK9 rails and the dumb cop said they were not up to road safety levels ~ like WTF. I told him how much of an idiot he was but i still got the defect notice.
The pits laughed when they saw it on the notice.
Bottom line, you can still get defected for the genuine ones by dumb cops. :thumbdwn:

Alot of copies are crap. Wouldn't trust my life with them. But those sscus seats seem pretty good. Good price too. Doubt if they would be as comfortable as recaros though.

For safety, I would stay clear of those copy's unless you going to use them as officechairs! , Just a thought.

but on this topic. have you seen some of the SAAS seats floating around? absolute crap.
i reckon some of the ADR approval criteria are a bit dubious.

i think those sscus would be fine/quality. its just the design which have been copied which doesnt mean the structure would be compromised.
its not like these are of unknown origin. it is a legit company.
anyway, they are used for competition - 4wd at that so they must be ok

I agreed, don't go for copies for safety reasons.
