98 Prelude VTiR
Its great, I love it, but... its heavy, it isn;t really an extreme racing beast... I would consider the EG as a project car - then race it... I mean, I already have a racecar too, but thats a skyline... kinda want a civic...
Unless I can get an EP3 Civic Type R that is.... I'd ditch the prelude in an instant
i got a skyline now but will be sold soon
yes...i was getting my friends EF..coz its 4000 and i dont have money more thant that ...i was poor lol
then now my friend screwd me up by saying yes i can drive the car and now NO i cant drive it!
i need the car for work for god sakes! on sunday
so i rang up my auntie to ask her for $7000 and say pay her back when i have money by the end of this month:)
and she says ok !!! i feel like giving her a kiss now!
so i am taking the EG civic
the buyer say shes selling for $8500....and shes going overseas in next 2 weeks
u think i can talk down to $7000? what u guys think?

offer her $7000 cash in hand - she won't take it, females espeially get cut up when people tell them a rpice, or they think a car is worth a price - then someone tells them it is not worth it - I did it once and got threatened..
Mayve girl to girl you wil be OK
hhaha
i talk to her on the fone just then she seems easy going
if i say 7000 and she is not happy
then i would say lets take a middle range....7500...then u happy i happy am i rite there lol
its stock...and wich i like it so i can mod it myself
once again will be resprayed to black lol...:D
and would the 15 x7 black racing pro n1 fit this car now?
/me worries still
and shes going overseas for good...so shouldnt be a prob if talk to her and give her 7000 or 7500 cash on monday and she can fix the rwc and stuff
then i can put my QTMILK no.s plate on it hehehehe

..not really, but hey!!
Egs are better anyway
is it an si/gl/gli/vti....
i have no idea mate:D
its 95 model so what it comes?
does it really matters?( i doubt the chick will drive si)~_~
if i am putting in a b18c in it later...or b16a(do i come with it?) does the engine type really matters?
McChook
13-02-2004, 05:30 PM
well, being a 95, putting a B series engine in isn't too bad, as it must have EFI. Would be best if it was a Vti as it will have a Vtec Controller, making wiring much easier...
but ya never know what she'll have... prolly a gli...
ye gli...does that matters alot?
if i wanna make it vt-r?
McChook
13-02-2004, 05:36 PM
yeah, doesn;t have a VTEC controller - but doesn;t make it impossible, just not as easy... but it has EFI, so thats a plus...

WTF is VTEC controller?? are you referrinf to the extra wiring which is required for the VTEC soleniod once a VTEC motor is swaped?? Vicky just call me if you wana know more about swaps. you've seen my car LOL :)

Hey!
If it's a GLi, and you're planning a conversion, you need to upgrade rear brakes... umm I'm not sure what else you gotta change.
thanx B:)
are all brakes disc or drum ?
i will figure that out in June....lol

a) Your friend doesn't have an EF, he has an ED
b) EF > ED > EG > EK
Nothing anyone says will make me believe otherwise :)

n00b
do a search
B20 is the CR-V bottom end, and use a B16a head. User Tinkerbell on this forum has one, he knows a lot about it. It is the best way to go, nuffin' better....

EG all the way.
In reference to your question above, do a search on "B20VTEC" or "engine swaps" or "engine conversions" and i'm sure you will find heaps of threads that have discussed this at length.
Basically though, a B20 is a CRV block. What people do is mate the bottom end of a B20 to the B16A top. It's also referred to as a 'Frankenstein'. :)

B20 Cheaper?? depends how you do it, And I have NEVER seen one crack, and I have seen a lot. Get a decent engine builder. Charlie @ good performance is the man, never known one of his B20s to die...

guys how many of you actually run crvtecs?? just wondering 'cose I wouldnt tell anyone to get something unless I ran it myself. Personally I would only do a crvtec if I had a beater aorund. Plus remember with tuning and all other shit involved its no easy task by far COMPARED to an engine swap which USUALLY its nice, clean and reliable. Im no trying to diss anyone but I would like to hear from those who actually run the setup and their opinions rather than those who want others to do it 'cose they only dream that they could do it themselves...
-Joe
PS: Vicky: why dont you tell us what you want out of your car and what its mostly gona be used for (street/drag/track/show??). This would make it easier for us to help you :)
hi joe...i wanna it to be a track show car:)
i want efficiency of looks and power all together
but i do not want extreme looks:D
thanks joe and friends

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2459882629&category=35 227
that is the tread on ebay, have a look you might be interested, has a nomber to call aswell, not sure where you are from, but i think the car is from sydney

but seriously....go ask ur mechanics which one is better b20 or b18c? for shure they will recoment b18 for both track or street use...most ppl install b20 for track/drag purpose...
trust me i've seen 4 cars wif b20 block engine cracked but NONE with b18c so far.
b20 block instalment cost between 4k-5k n b18c around 6-8k...the choice is urs milk :P
i recomment Technick Tunning (ART) or BMT for engine swap, their the best so far in melb i reckon n quite famous also :)

And yet Tinkerbell has CRVTEC running in his Integra XSi with no issues and ALLMTR has drag raced his street driven 12 second Civic and neither have had any issues with the B16/B20 combo. Go figure.
Most psople who do the frankenstein conversion and have issues with it try to do it on the cheap and screw up the build.
B20 block for 4-5 grand? WTF? You must be shopping at the wrong places I think
thanks guyz
is that just the engine or half cut?
how much price diff in both (b16a / b18c)
