How to clean Chrome Mags??

Hi

What do u guys use to clean ur mags... I use soap and water mixed togather but i have noticed my mags at the back has a lot of brake dust that isnt coming off.... the front are fine.... I have been looking at other chrome mags and a lot of them have lost the chrome shine...dont know how but dont want that happening to mine.....

Without doubt the best way to clean triple chrome mags is with acid based wheel cleaner and a steam cleaner. it cleans the rims inside and out.

Dont use it if you have that dodgy spray on chrome that comes on cheaper brand wheels ie BSA as the acid will eat the chrome off.

I hate to say it but - Go to your local Autobarn and purchase mag wheel cleaner, they come up great...

I have P&W mags from tempe tyres????

ask them if they are triple plated. another way to tell is that triple plated chrome wheels get colder to the touch, than spray on chrome.

get Kitten Wheel cleaner... works like magic :) spray on, rinse off, easily gets rid of hard to remove brake pad dust. Red squirt nozzle bottle.

I use meguiars "HOT RIMS" i think thats what its called, sooo easy to use too.. Spray it on leave for 15 seconds and hose off with water.. I then usually polish them with a old rag, comes up nice man.. :thumbsup:

If you want the shine to last try some marine autosol.. Makes all chrome come up really nice.

it may take a bit longer(15-20mins for all four) but it will turn out very nice

pre-autosol the meguiars work a treat, i've tried the shell wheel cleaner and works pretty well too with a smaller price tag.
