Locote , sell ya GSI and get a Vtir, or Type R.
You were talking about turboing, but obviously now your not going to turbo?

yeah im gona turbo, just wanna have a strong motor aswell,
getting my stage 2 crower cams next week, ill c how they go,
lsd, 4kg flywheel, redline oil in gbox, h/d clutch then turbo and ECU. ovbviously lower compresion once motor gets tired.
taking it in stages. turbo should go in late this year early next

Can someone clarify whether b18b and b18c rods are same/similar - i would think the bore x stroke woud be different between these two engines and amoungst other differences means they arent compatible ?

here are the specs.....
B18C:
Rod length: 137.9 mm
Stroke: 87.2 mm
R/S: 1.58:1
Displacement: 1797.36 cc
B18A-B:
Rod length: 137mm
Stroke: 89mm
R/S: 1.54:1
Displacement: 1834.47 cc
Im pretty sure it can be done, using b18c rods in the gsi motor (although the compression will most likely drop) but you want a rod that will not stretch at high rpm...like egeal rods....as well as a structualy strong rod. I think by the time you buy typr r rods and rod bolts, you could have almost bought a set of egal rods and rod bolts.....and yes you do need tough bolts as the b18b/a bolts are thinner and weaker. This is a must for exeding over the 50 horse level.
