hey guys i'm new to the forums..

currently looking at upgrading my civic. came across a 93 honda civic EG breeze with B16A engine for $10,500. the car is pretty much stock (drum brakes) except for the transplant & a ECU. just wondering if it's worth the price?

thanks in advance

go take a look at it, see if there are any problems, etc.

are the front brakes still drum? or were they converted?
how many kms?

it would cost you similar money to buy an eg and put the engine in, but without the headaches...

and i thought the drums were only on the rear, i thought front brakes were disks as standard?

yeah no brakes have been upgraded and they are still running the EG Breeze brakes. i was thinking a breeze is around $6000 so his basically charging me for the engine which i don't think is very fair..... what do u guys think?

i bought similar thing...

mines a breeze with b16, brake upgrade, suspension upgrade, obviously ecu. and some interior bits and pieces...

i think 10500 is a bit rich.. with just standard brakes on front its illegal anyway so i dont know how it passed engineers if it has even got one... make sure the engine number is in the registratrion cos if its not and it doesnt have an engineers cert you will have to upgrade the front brakes just to register it.

i rekkon it would be worth about 9 as is.

Breeze aren't going for 6k man - Shop around as I''m sure I've seen them go for around $3-4k!

IMO $10.5k for a breeze with just the transplant is abit pricy.

i'm sure the price is negotiable right?
personally, i think if the car is in good nick, and the conversion is tidy then go for it. Sometimes its worth it not to have the headaches associated with conversions.

For that price the car would have to be pretty immaculate

dude if carby models had FRONT drum brakes they'd all be written off by now cause theres no way u can stop a car with front drum brakes unless u open the door and use ur foot too ;)

price seems resonable. depends on the the cars condition. i picked up a similar car a few weeks ago, but with 5 stud conversion. similar price (lil bit more), but condition was pretty average.

he basically want to charge the cost of the car, new engine and labour which i think is a bit steep. ppl got to realise labour you have had done is not a cost that should be past on to the next buyer.
you cant try to recoup all the costs you spent on modding a car when you sell it. cars lose money, its a fact.
i reckon ~8k is a fair price for a breeze with b16 consider nothing else (brakes etc) have been touched.
for 10.5k you could buy a gli hatch and get a b16 put in (well, at least in perth). then you got all electrics.

His car is worth what ever he thinks it worth. If you don't like that his charging you for his hard work and headachs, go buy a stock breeze. No dramas.

Actually his car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If someone is willing to pay 10.5k for it then they will buy it. If no one is willing to pay that much it won’t sell.

The real question is are you willing to pay 10k for something your going to have to spend another 2-3k on to be happy
