hey guys, just need your help with something, ive got a 7" in dash motorised lcd screen to go in the EG, though i dont know where to mount it. as the dash is only single din and its got the cd player in there. *please note: this screen is going to run Xbox only, and i dont need inbuilt DVD/screen as all my movies go straight onto xbox, thats y i just bought the screen for a good price. any ideas or pictures of what people have done would be greatly appreciated. here are the 2 ideas i have but im useless with customing.

how about a custom setup under the headunit in that gap. build some sort of plastic/fibre glass or something frame.. and use the strong foam stuff from clark rubber to secure it and give it a nice finish etc.. its hard to imagine, but ive seen it done in cars for V/SAFCs and RSMs etc

Get hold of a JDM spec cente console, should suit your needs perfectly. It has 2 extra DIN slots for head units plus ash tray/lighter and adds a touch of JDM goodness to your EG. Plus it's a hell of a lot less fiddly than making something up from scratch and probably no more expensive..

Here's a pic..

Have a look at the trader section of this site or at a JDM specialist wreckers, they shouldn't be too hard to find. Failing that, have a look at US eBay, they come up there all the time..

i've seen the air con controls and deck space made into one big hole to fit a 7 inch screen, it looked very nice.... but then you have no aircon controls

just a thought

If you have a remote control for your deck, you could install the deck into the glove box and with a simple cover plate can look quite smart, you can also mount a gauge or 2 into there if you are willing to lose your glovebox. You could then mount the screen in its place in your dash.

The JDM console is obviously the perfect solution if you can find it.
