Install DR has been my friend for my past 3 cars, never lets me down.

Getting to the headunit is relatively simple (from my experience), but the wiring diagrams etc are vital! Install DR your my hero !

No to dash.

For $50 odd bucks consider getting a professional to do it.

Just remember to disconnect your battery before cutting any wires!!!!!!

therers tyhew surrounding that goes around the air vents and heed unit and air con dials and that does tht just clip out or is it actually glued to the vinyl????? rather then pulling the whole thing out

The surroundings are held on by screws, two external ones... (behind the De-froster button and the other behind the emergency indicator button) and 3 or 4 behind the surrounding itself. The sliding switch.. you can pull the tab off, it just clips back on. Its a bitch to take off... i suggest not to do it unless you have a good reason to.

oh my god, was lookin for that instal dr site, when i was wiring up the audio for my ps2 in my ek1, was such a bitch that i pulled half of my lower console out and squeezed my hand up thru the back and put the plugs in.

dude read the install Dr website. you don't need to remove the pannel you just need to unbolt the deck from behind.

all you need to take off is the cupholder/ashtray section to get behind radio

Yeah it is a fairly simple process once you no it. For a first timer however, it may prove difficult.

Just finished reading the ID tutes, and its plainly obvious that the panels in the AUD civics are slightly different, the two screws they say are near the cigerette lighter are in fact in the ashtray roof. I've pulled down the EK dash a couple times now and its a work of art if you do it in steps and put it back the opposite you can't go wrong.

When ever your doing major install its always much easier and save plenty of bruised nuckles if you strip out almost the whole interior.

I'm pretty sure this has been covered in the forums, i removed the glove box, panel underneath the steering wheel, and slid the centre section back. I then removed the centre section, and unbolted the stereo from underneath.

once u take off the panels and the glove box, if you havent got the headunit keys to pull out hte head unit, i used a flat head screwdriver to push in the clips from both sides and pushed my headunit out from the back.
