springs ?

hi guys,
im just wondering if anybody knows what coil springs are made of? i have been searching everywhere and narrowed it down to either spring steel or galvanized steel....

any links would be good also

Spring steel.

Galvanised steel has a zinc coating to prevent corosion.
This does not aid springiness.
