hi guy does anyone know the difference between coilover springs and normal springs. do they act in the same way in reference to spring rates or do they act differently because ones used in a coilover and the other is in normal shock?
thanks

coilover springs are usually straight cut ( that is , the same rate thru the length of the spring) and ofcourse much shorter + stiffer than a normal progressive spring )( IE OEM or most normal springs).

u can get coilover overs using normal springs.

coil springs are usually more tightly wound with a very high tensile steel making them very stiff and durable, but how stiff your ride is depends on shock travel and dampness.

ok so if i had a set of coilover and normal springs with the same spring rate. would they act/perform in a similar way with same shcok travel and dampness?
