I finally got my ass down to a strip to try out the civic.

I've always heard that stocko time for my car is a 17 second pass, yesterday I pulled a 16.3 from my civic..

Not fast I know, but without mods and no tacho I was pretty happy with that effort haha..

Just so you have something to say in return to this post, post up your stock 1/4 times.. (if you like)

Wow, that is good to know.

Did you strip down the car or is that a stock standard run?

Nah I didn't strip it down.. had everything still in it..

I have a pod filter and a cannon.. but I wouldn't call them 'performance mods'.. I not sure exactly what difference they make..but it's bugger all.

that's a great effort, makes ek owners proud. I always thought the ek civics should be pretty fast as their power to weight ratio(88KW/around 1000Kg) is better than most, if not all of the small cars in its class.

What rpm you launch from??

oh hang on no tacho hey... any idea?

rakfint

haha nah sorry no idea on what my rpm was..

I am pretty confident when I go back in about a months time i'll be able to land myself a flat 16.. I didn't get what I THOUGHT was a clean launch all day..

I started off reving too high and chirping/bouncing thru first and second gears

I tried to settle it down a bit but then was bogging down too much resulting in slower times..

thanks for the positive response

ooo that could be a good or bad thing....

it COULD mean my car did well.. but it COULD also mean future mods to my car won't produce much power... hmmm

cheers :)

Hey mate well done on the times....just a word of advice that if you can get your 60ft time down to about at least a 2.2 or 2.3 you may even be able to break into the 15s.

I've done a 15 flat in the past with the same mph you got on that time you've presented and that's with a sedan.

I try and concentrate on getting a low 60ft time...it always ends up giving me back a respectable ET. Try and ride your clutch a little to eliminate wheelspin as much as you can. As soon as it hooks up, release the clutch completely. During the run work on snap changing as much as you can too and you will notice your times decreasing significantly.

I recently ran a 14.4 on 5psi. Next week the boost will go up to 12 so we'll see how that goes. I'll let you know.

Have fun.

But I do have a slip, I'll post it up later for you.
