I currently have chome 17's on LS

I got these rims over a year ago
They are 17's and I have got 215's khumo's on them this is the widest I could fit on them
I have just finnished an LS/Vtec conversion with LSD box and bigger rotors and calipers the offset on my current wheels are all wrong and have to have spacers on them to fit (I allways have had spacers)
I am now looking at new wheels and thinking of going down to 16's from a performance view

I have broken 4 drive shafts in the last year (2 left 2 right)
I know my car being lowerd contributes to this but would the wheels as well?
My current wheels are quite heavy and would trying to spin them put extra load on the shafts?
I dont sit there doing burnouts but I like to have a good launch

What benifits would I gain from going down in size 15/16?

Is there a noticible differance with lighter wheels?

Will smaller wheels change the way my car handels?

I have broken 4 drive shafts in the last year (2 left 2 right) - me too lol

I dont sit there doing burnouts but I like to have a good launch - me too

What benifits would I gain from going down in size 15/16? - quicker and handle better

Is there a noticible differance with lighter wheels? - YES YES

Will smaller wheels change the way my car handels?- DEFINATELY :)

hope that helps.. hehehe

yeh get those things off asap! they're slowin ur LS down big time!!

lightweight 16's are a perfect compromise for looks and performance.

i got lightweight 17's... but if i was doing it again i would have got 16's

Should I still get the widest tyres I can fit?
widder is better for handeling am I right?
coz when I went from 205 to 215 I noticed better hadeling
I had Silverstones 205 and now on Khumo Sports 215

according to some review silverstones were shocking so you gotta take into account the quality of the tyres...i think your big heavy 17's play a pretty big role in u breaking shafts etc...some light weight 16's are the way to go IMO will be both good for the performance and handling side of things and your shafts too....

chromies tend to be heavier than normal polish silver rims

If you like 17" on your car, get something not chromies and light

Will the profile of the tyre affect the handling and perofrmance of the car?
